Spike VGA Impressions And Red Carpet Interviews

First, on the red (white) carpet we had a chance to talk to Kristin Kreuk, who is best known for her work as Lana Lang on the series Smallville. Kreuk is also stepping into the shoes of one of our favorite fighting females in the 2009 movie Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. We asked her about the most exciting experience she had while working on the film.

“There was this night that I was working on this huge crane over a
river in Bangkok,” began Kreuk. “I was told by the stunt coordinator that I was going to jump over the railing and do a blast backflip, and then jump off the thing. And I asked him if he was joking with me. But he told me I could do it, that he knew I could do it and that I would be fine. So I said okay. And standing up there and looking down, I just remember thinking to myself…why did I agree to this? What am I doing here? And then I recognized how amazing the experience was and how lucky I was to be given the opportunity.”

We also asked if the fans she gained through her work in Smallville would pale in comparison by the fans gained through the Street Fighter movie adaptation.

“I don’t know if it will be bigger actually, we will have to see once the movie comes out. I think that it will be a similar base though, they are all very intense and they have the specific way that they want things to be because they have invested so much time into the characters. So I think they will be the same following”
