quote:"B.C.'s Kristin Kreuk of hit TV show Smallville is another. The articulate 25-year-old is just months from launching an Internet project called Girls By Design, which is intended to help build young women's self esteem by engaging them in their communities and giving them a platform to express how they feel on issues ranging from body image to peer pressure.
"I think the entire culture is looking for a change, and a lot of the younger girls I talk to are passionate about helping make that change," says Kreuk, a native of Vancouver. "They're not apathetic; they want to go out and do something with their lives.""
BIZARRO TAKES OVER CLARK'S LIFE AND TRACKS DOWN BRAINIAC — While Clark (Tom Welling) is frozen in the Fortress, Bizarro takes over his life with Lana (Kristin Kreuk). Unaware she is with Bizarro, Lana enjoys the "new Clark" and shares information she's gathered on a serial killer who is draining his victims of all trace minerals.
The two conclude it must be Brainiac (guest star James Marsters) and Bizarro sets off to find him. Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) is stunned at Lionel's (John Glover) reaction after Grant (guest star Michael Cassidy) reveals he is a clone of Julian. Marc McClure, Jimmy Olsen from the Superman films, guest stars as Dax-Ur.

Kristin responded to a fun survey on the Girls by Design facebook group:

If you could take ballet, play basketball, or be on a swim team which would you pick? Ballet!!!
Have you ever been to a yard or garage sale? Do you like them? I have been and I have hosted them, and I think they are more fun to host and less fun to try to buy shtuff at...
Out to a party or a night-in? Night-in.
Should Valentine's Day really be celebrated? should... hmmm... Should is a weird word. If you wanna, go ahead. If you don't, don't.
Why are you doing this survey? Cuz it's funny... Survey's are funny.
What's in your fridge? not much. yogurt? Leftover thai food.

quote:"The Vancouver born Canada local begun her theatrical training in her early childhood, gaining formidable experience and professional training with Children's Theatre Arts, Canada, and appearing in an array of stage productions including "Cinderella" and "Grease" before landing a series regular spot on Canadian teen show "Edgemont," alongside actress Kristin Kreuk."
quote:"How did you come up with the idea? K: Allison and I are both about 25, so we kinda just finished college in some ways. This is a time in our lives when we're very explorative -- we set a lot of our values and things that we want to do with our lives, and we're very introspective. We want to support young people while they're going on that journey and to really encourage their explorations -- that's what this company is all about. We want to do something that's really exciting and unique, and this survey will help us find out exactly what most college students are interested in [and] where their values lie right now so that we can best support them.
Do you guys think you'll ever get a chance to go to college? K: I've toyed with the idea of taking classes again, I'm just not sure if it would be the most prudent thing for me to do right now. I might take classes in the future, but I don't think I will go to college and take a whole course load on and do the whole thing -- I don't foresee that. "
quote:"Kreuk also supports sustainability projects, such as the Aga Khan Foundation, which is a non-governmental agency that come up with unique solutions to solve social problems, mostly in Asia and Africa.
"It helps local communities without military support or aid. They fund really amazing projects," said Kreuk.
With filming the show, supporting the arts, and helping and creating charities and projects, it's still a wonder that they don't break out now and then, since Kreuk has been one of the longest-running faces on the Neutrogena commercials.
"I do have naturally good skin, and I rarely get zits," Kreuk laughs. "However, having clear skin doesn't mean anything. Even if you have flawless skin, photographers will still airbrush and airbrush until it is a perfectly smoothed image. They put us in specific lighting that helps our skin look good, and there is a smoke machine right in front of us that also helps with the cameras. So really, you can't ever win even if you do have perfect skin.""
quote:"Celebs Get Cavities Too Many celebrities frequent the brightly coloured Candy Aisle shop. They sift through the rows upon rows of clear plastic containers (not unlike a bulk food section) scanning for a sweet fix. Kevin Spacey, Angelina Jolie and funny guy Robin Williams have shopped the Candy Isle. Local favourites such as Smallville’s Kristina Kreuk and Will and Grace star Eric McCormack also frequent the shop. "
Another post by Kristin on the Girls by Design facebook group:
quote:"When I was a teenager, I wanted to travel. A LOT. All over the world, but primarily developing nations. Which I actually find really funny b/c I was a tad bit snobby about the whole thing. Kinda grown up a bit, heehee. Kinda.
So,
Canada-- B.C. and Ontario I have seen a lot of. And I spent one beautiful, snowy night in Montreal in December. USA-- A lot of NYC and L.A. I love love love Manhattan now. I kinda grew into it as I learned to love art, theater, clothes and yummy food and drink. Seattle--definitely have spent a plenty of time there. Other places too... haha Costa Rica--I really liked it. It was my first experience of tropical rainforest. Nepal-- What a beautiful country. Vibrant, smelly, magnificent. The people are soooo lovely. After this trip, I changed my life dramatically. India-- Love India. Rich, varied, contradictory, devastating, visceral, beautiful. Italy-- Have only been up north. Beautiful country-side, yummy wine, good food, exciting people. France-- Okay-- for a long time Paris was my city-of-choice. My memories of Paris are very precious. I have also been to the South, and spent a bit of time in Monaco(if I gambled, or was SUPER DUPER WEALTHY, that would have been more fun). Portugal-- What an amazing country. It was here I developed a love for wine and olives. Mexico-- Have had a few experiences. Crazy place. Awesome... crazy. Guadeloupe-- Pretty. Had a nice holiday. England-- London really. I like London muchly.
I suspect I have forgotten something. hehe.
I want to go to: Kenya, Brazil--actually I would love to do a south america trip..., South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, India again, Pakistan, Spain, Indonesia, ahhhh-- a lot of places. xo kk"
Allison Mack has confirmed on her Official Blog that herself along with Kristin and Nicki Clyne will be attending this Springs A Cappella Innovations:

There will be another musical extravaganza on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of April 2008! Same website with info, same location with music! Check it out– www.acappellainnovations.com. Kristin and I will be there with miss Nicki Clyne in full support mode!"
Kristin's manager Russ Mortensen speaks about the writers' strike to The Canadian Press:
quote:"Russ Mortensen, president of Vancouver-based Pacific Artists Management, which represents actors like Kristin Kreuk of "Smallville" and Ty Olsson from "Men in Trees," said Vancouver lost a bunch of shows when the strike began.
"Television is the hardest hit because generally they don't write that far ahead," Mortensen said. "Maybe they've got a script-and-a-half ready to go at any time."
Newer, locally shot shows like "Bionic Woman," hadn't proved themselves in the ratings and were shut down when the strike started.
Others, like "Men In Trees" and the long-running "Smallville," continued on for several more weeks, though both have either wrapped or will finish this week."
Kristin posted her favorite quotes on Girls by Designfacebook group:
quote:"Here are a few... They are all about personal evaluation and responsibility. Enjoy!!!
“There are very few human beings who perceive the truth, complete and staggering by instant illumination. Most of them acquire it fragment by fragment, on a small scale, by successive developments, cellularly, like a laborious mosaic.” –Anais Nin
"In the present circumstances, no one can afford to assume that someone else will solve their problems. Every individual has a responsibility to help guide our global family in the right direction. Good wishes are not sufficient; we must become actively engaged." Dalai Lama
"Self-discipline, although difficult, and not always easy while combating negative emotions, should be a defensive measure. At least we will be able to prevent the advent of negative conduct dominated by negative emotion. That is 'shila', or moral ethics. Once we develop this by familiarizing ourselves with it, along with mindfulness and conscientiousness, eventually that pattern and way of life will become a part of our own life."-Dalai Lama
"The highest purpose of intellectual cultivation is to give a man a perfect knowledge and mastery of his own inner self; to render our consciousness its own light and its own mirror." - Frederich Leopold von Hardenberg"
More new photos of Kristin can be found on the facebook group album as well!
Kristin was featured in a small segment in In style Magazine called 365 STAR STYLE SECRETS. She was #44, the picture used was from The CW Launch Party.
Her style secret was:
"Thick base is not attractive on anyone. if you cover up blemishes with heavy makeup, your skin looks worse."
Kristin mentioned in a TheStar.com article about Jessica Lucas who was in the film Cloverfield along with Lizzy Caplan (aka Tina Greer from Smallville). Kreuk connection in Cloverfield, major:
quote:"Lucas is a TV veteran from recent Vancouver-filmed series such as Life as We Know It and CBC's Edgemont, with her fellow alumnae from that show including Smallville's Kristin Kreuk and Battlestar Galactica's Grace Park. But this is her first big movie, and acting – or reacting – to a "green-screen" computer-generated monster that isn't actually there was just part of the challenge for the cast, she says."
I haven't been posting any of Kristin's posts found on the Girls by Design facebook group, but I've decided to post this one because I thought it was really cute:
quote:"What are 5 things you have NEVER told anyone?
1. Gum exists in my mouth at all times...and you probably would never know. Even when I am making-out on camera.
2. I wear Christmas pajamas all year round.
3. My first kiss was on camera.
4. I barfed in the Himalayas...
5. I have an intense smellanoia. OK,maybe people know that already...heehee"
quote:"'Smallville' Actress Prepares to Be a 'Street Fighter' Thursday, January 17, 2008 Kristin KreukKristin Kreuk, who has spent plenty of time kicking butt as Lana Lang on the CW's Smallville, recently signed on for a chance to beat up bad guys on the big screen. She'll be playing the titular martial-arts warrior in the film Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, which is based on the popular video game franchise. If the film sounds like a piece of late 1980s nostalgia that could be because the screenplay was written by Justin Marks, who has also scripted upcoming films based on Masters of the Universe and Voltron. Whether this is a cinematic masterpiece in the making or a surefire sign of the apocalypse is up to you to decide.
Fans of the Street Fighter series will surely remember the 1994 film based on the games, which featured Jean-Claude Van Damme as Guile and the late Raul Julia as M. Bison. In that version, future ER star Ming Na played Chun-Li. The character originally became popular for being the first playable female in a one on one fighting game, and while she's fairly one dimensional in the games, she is known to be the world's strongest woman. Kreuk doesn't really strike me as the strongest woman in the world, but considering all they can do with wire-fu these days it probably doesn't matter."
ET Canada has a poll on their site asking-- Who would you like to see appear as the next celebrity briefcase guest on "Deal Or No Deal"? and Kristin one of the choices!
Girls by Design sent this message via myspace to anyone who requested them:
quote:"Thank you SO much for your interest in participating in the journey of creating "Girls By Design," a website where YOUNG WOMEN can come together from around the WORLD to EXPLORE, EXPRESS, CREATE and realize their potential together.
Currently, we're still in the process of building our MySpace page and aren't active on it just yet, but there's a fun facebook group going on that we'd like for you to join in the mean time. Here's the link: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=7980531822
We can't express how excited we are that you've chosen to participate with us in building this company from the ground up. We're trying to reach as many girls as possible to join our network, so we would love for you to invite your friends and help spread the word!
BostonNow interviewed the executive producer and creator of One Tree Hill, Mark Schwahn and there was a a tiny blurb about Kristin in the interview:
quote:"BN: Over the years there has been a lot of tabloid publicity about back stage goings on at the show. Were there times when your job became more about simply keeping people focused? MS: You know what helped a lot? Having them in Wilmington. We weren't The OC and some of these other shows...I can't imagine how it would have all these young actors working in LA, on a big network, with all these premieres and the nightlife available to them. Joe Davola is one of our executive producers and he also executive produces Smallville, and he said to me, "thank god Tom Welling and Kristin Kreuk were up in a small town in Canada working on the show and unaware of what big stars they were becoming", and that helped us a lot, too. "
I saw her at the Naam (Vancouver, BC) on West Fourth last week. My friends and I were leaving and we saw her with Allison Mack seated at the front.
I guess we made it obvious we knew who she was, cus she shot us the "Oh no you dont" face and we left. I contemplated on going back and asking for a pic with an "I love ONTD" sign but she made it pretty obvious she didnt want anyone approaching her. But man, girl was looking ROUGH. "
Derek Stewart is on a mission and he needs your support. In short, he wants a date with Kristin. He wants to get as many people to support him via facebook and soon YOUTUBE, so he can get Kristin's attention. On his facebook page right now he has a video introducing himself and explaining the project's mission.
Derek's project reminds me a lot of Brian Herzlinger trying to win a date Drew Barrymore which was made into a documentary My Date With Drew.
Vancouver’s own Kristin Kreuk is set to star in a new action flick called Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. Kreuk will play the title character in yet another flick based on a popular video game. The plot revolves around Chun-Li embarking on a violent journey for justice. Kreuk has spent many years playing a pivotal part on the locally shot Superman series Smallville and also starred in a feature flick made here a few years ago, called Partition. Street Fighter is set to hit theaters in 2009."
quote:"Kristin Kreuk is keeping plenty busy these days. Together with her Smallville co-star Allison Mack and local actresses Nicki Clyne (Battlestar Galactica) and Sarah Edmondson (Edgemont), Kreuk is venturing into cyberspace, building a new website geared toward college students. While the raison d’être of the site remains a bit of a mystery, Kreuk did offer a few clues about its purpose during a recent interview with Kryptonsite.com. “...what we want to do is provide a bunch of services for college students as well as an environment where they can really explore themselves and what they want to see in the world, and what they do, and really communicate with each other.”
Given how we began this column, it’s always nice to see Canadian celebrities doing something constructive for the greater community."

The title is totally an inside joke between a friend and myself... so sorry for the corniness of it, but it implies! Anywhooo, two more facebook groups in relations to Kristin (one more than the other):
quote:"Hey all! Just a quick update on the Juicy Peach front!
* We’re planning a special, non-”Smallville” photo shoot for the headshots that you purchase from Juicy Peach. Our photographer is out of town until the end of the month, so we’ll be sending the shots out in February. Just wanted to let you all know so that you’re aware of the slight delay in receiving the pics you order. * There have been a few questions regarding international details for the company. We are, in fact, shipping internationally, and those details will be on the site shortly. The grant will only be a national grant, for now. * We’re still refining the criteria for grant approval, and we’ve evaluated our initial financial stipulation. We’ve decided not to put a cap on the amount earned in a year. We really want to keep the grant open to all artists that have the goal of creation and a belief in the power of authentic expression. * We’ve decided to put a cap on the amount of calendars we’re putting out. So, we’re only going to be selling 150 calendars for the year! But don’t worry– we’ll keep coming out with more fun things as we make them!
As we’re growing and changing, we’ll keep you all updated!
The actual store will be up very soon!
This is very exciting! It’s all happening!
Xoxo
Ciao,
Allison and Kristin"
Also Allison posted a photo of herself and Kristin doing acrobatics, funny stuff:
Just wanted to update everyone on Kristin's Birthday Project, the total that was donated was $1140 USD. BC Children's Hospital, Red Cross and Greenpeace will each receive $380 USD! You can view scans of the checks which were cut yesterday and were sent out today, here!
Thanks to Arista for the info and her awesomeness!
Also BIG thanks to everyone who took part in this project, either by donating, taking part in the VIDEO, making suggestions or just spreading the word about the project via your websites or forum signatures!
Girls by Design has a group on Facebook with candid pictures, videos and this following description:

quote:"Smallville co-stars Allison Mack and Kristin Kreuk may spend a lot of time fighting freaks on screen, but in real life they're more concerned with helping out struggling artists. The two lovely ladies have started a new online store called Juicy Peach, where they plan to sell their own artistic creations as well as those created by fans. Instead of collecting the profits for themselves, they'll turn any money earned into $1000 grants, which they will then send out to struggling artists around the country. Their goal is to encourage creative expression and help fellow artists find their way to success."
quote:"Vancouver’s own Kristin Kreuk — best known for playing Lana Lang on Smallville— will kick off 2008 sarring as Chun-Li in the feature Street Fighter: Legend Of Chun-Li for 20th Century Fox. The film is based on the popular video game series, first adapted for the big screen in 1994 with Jean-Claude Van Damme."
quote:"Lana Lang and Lex Luthor The unlikely Smallville duo decided to marry after Lana (Kristin Kreuk) got pregnant. When she discovered that Clark (Tom Welling) has superpowers — and still loved her — she wavered. But Lex's dad threatened to kill Clark, so she and Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) got hitched. And then she left him six episodes later. Ah, love..."
quote:"Here is a list of the best and/or most talked about spoilers released in 2007 via Spoilers Anonymous or special spoilers articles here at TV Squad....
....In the Smallville world, the biggest news of 2007 was the fact that contract negotiations with Kristin Kreuk were not going really well over the summer and that there was a big possibility that Lana would not come back to the series. This news split the fandom in two: those who were happy that Lana would be a goner and those who weren't. The latter group got its wish granted and Kristin Kreuk came back to the series."
quote:" The store itself will be launched in just a few days, and the first 10 calendars are going out as soon as the post offices open! Not-for-profit Juicy Peach will be a not-for-profit company based in the U.S.A. and will be official in January 2008. All products sold will come with a receipt.
Criteria for artists:
1. Must be making less than $26,000 per year directly from your art. 2. Must be a U.S. citizen 3. Artists who receive this grant will be creating authentic, unique, and innovative work in any of the following fine art fields: writing, performing, and visual arts, including film. Juicy Peach supports and encourages the brave act of authenticity in the pursuit of skilled professional artistry. Part of being human is to encounter and work through adversity. As an artist, there are times when adversity feels like a massive concrete wall directly in front of you, reaching just beyond where you could feasibly leap on your own. Juicy Peach is part of helping you find a way through that big, giant concrete wall.
Grant The first Juicy Peach grant will be $1,000 and will be given when we have raised that much money. If you would like to donate your work to the store, please send your submissions to info@juicypeach.org. When your work is sold, Juicy Peach will reimburse you for your raw materials, but not your time. Profits will go directly into the grants. Juicy Peach will begin to take submissions for grants shortly."
First of all, let me wish everyone a Happy New Years! Now...as you all can see I've updated the site with a new layout, changed and added some things.
YOUTUBE Features - I got this idea from WorldofJustin.com... so full credit to them! Only real difference is, I would like it to be more focus on fan made videos vs. just general clips. I've added three fan made videos, one which I personally made (WHAT!?) and two that I really liked. There's still a slot for one more, so if you have a video that you would like to submit, please send! More details on this will come later once I make a form for submissions.
Ratings - I removed the review feature from the Filmography page since I was having issues with it and added a rating system to replace it. Simple and sweet!
Font - I changed the font style... Even though I really liked it and kind of still wanted to keep it since it looks so great on Window based OS's, but on Mac OSX... not so much.
Gallery - Just changed the layout to match the main page's.
Yeah, I believe that's all the changes I did! Hopefully you guys like it, please leave a comment with your honest opinions and if you find any errors, please let me know as well!
