Last week I went to Iceland for a press event hosted by computer game developer CCP. They created the game "EVE-Online" (www.eve-online.com) maybe you know it. In any case they are planning a lot of projects for the future, including an expansion to China and and that's the point a movie about the background story of their game. In Iceland they revealed the first pictures of possible characters actually for the China expansion, but maybe also for the movie.

Look at the pictures wouldn't that match perfectly? But unfortunately this is 100% unofficial.

Kristin along with her Smallville co-star Erica Durance (Lois Lane) were interviewed tonight on Entertainment Tonight about Clark’s relationship between both of their characters.

Kristin pretty much said Clark and Lana being together is not so far stretch since they were already pretty close and there's just a lot more smooches now and that the Clark and Lois relationship will happen later on when he re-meets Lois at the Daily Planet.

This is a very interesting piece by The Great Canadian Guide to the Movies that was written in responds to all those remarks made by different people about Kristin not being or looking the part for her role of Naseem a Muslim, Pakistani/Indian girl in Partition.

In conclusion, I guess my point is that, hypocritical though I may be, if Sarin had cast a wholly white actress in the part, and painted her up, I'd probably object more strenuously, too. Because then it's just the same old story of a white actor taking a part away from a non-white actor. But when you're talking about actors of already mixed ethnicity, like Kreuk, I'm more ambivalent -- do we really want an industry where people like Kreuk can only get parts that reflect their particular ethnic combination? How many parts are there specifically geared for Dutch-Chinese Canadians?

Sure, in an ideal world, Sarin probably could've found a "name" Canadian actress of Indian ancestry to play the part...but maybe in an ideal world, it shouldn't really matter.

Anyway, you might as well get used to Korean-Canadians like Sandra Oh playing Chinese-Canadians, and Kristin Kreuk playing white American girls and brown Indian girls...'cause as Canada's so-called cultural mosaic continues to diversify, the lines between ethnic groups are going to get blurrier and blurrier. And you know what? That's probably a good thing.

He also offered quite an interesting little nugget of info about who he thinks should play Agent 99. Here's what he said:

It's taken so long to do because they want to get it right - we don't want another Bewitched…they're going to dress me up like him, and yes, there will be similiar mannerisms…but I'm not even going to try and do his voice - it was unique. He was unique. [Concerning who will play '99'] Young, let's go young - I like Kristin Kruek of Smallville, and I know Jennifer Love Hewitt. I've talked to Kristin - she's keen. We'll see.

It's no longer an internet rumor. Kristin is in talks for Agent 99 for the movie version of Get Smart. The New York Post confirmed it in today's edition that Steve Carell actually did say producers of the film are in talks with Kristin for the role:

"The Office" star Steve Carell, who is set to play Maxwell Smart in a planned movie version of "Get Smart," says producers are talking to Kristin Kreuk of "Smallville" to play Agent 99.

For those who don't know about Get Smart it was a 1960's campy spy sitcom on NBC that ran from 1966-1969 and from there it went to CBS for its last year. The series was created by Mel Brooks who many may know for movies such as Robin Hood: Men in Tights and Space Ball.

Announcer: Neve Campbell and Kristin Kreuk topline the cast of the upcoming romantic epic "Partition". Now for smallville star , Kreuk, working on the film has opened her eyes to a whole new world.

Kristin: For a while I was like, "I don't know. Me playing Indian might not work out." but I felt after a while that, the fact that I am of a different background actually works perfectly for the theme of all of this. To express like differences in how we are all similar.

Announcer: kreuk, who comes from a Chinese Dutch background, plays a Muslim girl who flees deli in 1947 during the British partition of Muslim Pakistan and Hindu dominated India. She finds solace in the arms of a Sikh man. Kristin’s love interest Gian, who is played by Jimi Mistry has gotten very close to his costar.

Jimi: (talking about the Kreuk) She's a lovely girl . A very sweet, lovely, warm, generous, fun, very fun actually and she likes to laugh. And she's so light-hearted and we'd always mess around. And she's got a great sense of humor so it all works for me. (Sounds like he's crushing on her)

Neve: It's a great love story between Kristin Kreuk and Jimi and it's kinda lika a Romeo & Juliet story cause they're from different sides.

Kristin: I think that at this point in the world, at this time, stories of love have to be told. And there's so much hatred and ignorance and people disliking each other because of a religion, because of how they believe in god. And I think that this story shows that we can all live with unity.

Announcer: Though the film deals with some pretty serious subject matter, it really is a love story. And what does Kristin think about walking down the isle with a Romeo of her own?

Kristin: First of all, with me, (sounds like she's gonna start laughing) I've never thought about having a wedding. This has not been a part of my life in any way. Not one of those girls, at all. And if I were to decide to ever get married in my life, I'd probably just want to have this laid back, easy thing. But, I must admit that the dancing (they showed Kristin dancing for like 3 seconds behind the scenes), and the like eating, and these mendi ceremonies and all that it's soooo beautiful.

Announcer: Look for "Partition" to hit the big screens in early spring.

Kristin said she has no plans in getting married anytime soon and if she were to get married it would be a laid back wedding.
