quote:"Kristin Kreuk and Allison Mack will be hosting the music festival concert on Saturday; last I heard Kristin had to return to Vancouver on Sunday for filming, but Allison is apparently going to be able to stay on!"
quote:"OK, so now this week’s project is a little more personal and creative! I would love to see each of you draw a self portrait using one continuous line! That’s right! The challenge is to never let your pen leave the page! A la Picasso! Have fun! Here is Kristin’s and Chad’s."
quote:"I heard there's a movie interest for Whale Song. That sounds exciting. Would you tell us about that?
A number of Hollywood film companies are reading Whale Song. Plus I have personally sent a copy to various film contacts, including a prominent BC filmmaker and some names people will recognize. Kristin Kreuk, from the hit TV show Smallville, has been sent a copy of Whale Song. She was the original actress whom I had pictured playing the role of adult Sarah when I wrote Whale Song. Canadian Idol Eva Avila, whom I've gotten to know, is reading Whale Song. She is interested in pursuing acting and she would also make a great Sarah. Jodelle Ferland, a young and talented Canadian actress (Silent Hill) who has worked with Kristin Kreuk, is also reading Whale Song. She would make the perfect young Sarah. Her mother and I have become internet friends, and I can see Jodelle playing Sarah perfectly."
Kristin as adult Sarah and Jodelle Ferland as young Sarah. That'll be interesting... people are always saying how Kristin and Jodelle resemblance each other!
Sometime last week I received the Smallville season one box set in the mail that I've been meaning to buy for the past...donno...six years?!
(Check out the Smallville boxset sale on amazon.com )
When looking through the booklet that comes with the boxset I came to realize that there were images within it of Kristin that were new to me or uncommon. So I went and dug up season two and three (don't ask why I had those before season one) and realized that in those set as well there were images of Kristin that weren't common. So I decided to scan them and add them into the gallery along with the DVD faces that Kristin appears on, which some are new images, others aren't:
If anyone has the other seasons (still debating on getting those) and by chance have a scanner, can you please scan the booklet and the DVD faces to then email me them so I can compete the gallery! It'll be greatly appreciated!
quote:"One of my regular readers, Javier, reminded me about something very disheartening as it relates to this season of Smallville and the writers strike. I've heard actress Kristin Kreuk (who plays Lana) say in interviews that this season would be her last."
quote:"Network TV used to have an unwritten rule that there could only be one Asian American woman, if that, in a leading (or even prominent recurring) role on TV at a time. Or in a few-year span.
In the '90s it was Margaret Cho on All American Girl, followed by Ming-Na on ER, and Lucy Liu on Ally McBeal. Then at the turn of the century, it was Keiko Agena on Gilmore Girls, and Kristin Kreuk on Smallville, plus a few others sprinkled in now and then. "
I was told that the entry fee for each night was free, but apparently NOT! A Cappella Innovations has updated their website stating that they will start selling tickets starting this Wednesday from $15/$20 for each night.

The meet and greet for participants and judges isn't opened for the public.
Thanks to CLARKLANAFAN for the info!
Another Update with more details:
quote:"Ok, so I just got off the phone with this girl Clare who's one of the people organizing the event and she told me that Kristin will actually be hosting both evening concerts that are open for the general public. Unfortunately there won't be any meet and greet with her or any of the judges but Clare confirmed that the "Smallville ladies" as she referred to them will be hosting both events."
quote:"One thing that lent to this episode was Kristin Kreuk’s amazing acting. I have always felt that she was able to convey emotions very well as an actress, but it seems this season she has been given loads to do. Almost makes me wonder if the seventh season of Smallville will be her last. One can hope not. But I don’t think this episode would not have been as strong as it was were it not for Kristin’s ability as an actress. This episode was definitely a look into Lana’s damaged psyche through absorbing Clark’s powers. And she was able to convey all of these “damaged” emotions such pure fury, corruption, and vulnerability perfectly all in one packed episode."
quote:"In this episode, she had that same feel, but what made this one seem different was her interaction with Lana. I thought that Kristin Kreuk was able to play off Helen Slater wonderfully. Not only did the actors work well together, Lara was able to give Lana some more hope in her life. Hope is something that girl needs in her life, especially after the events of Wrath."
quote:"Honorable mention goes to the Man From London. Other highlights include seeing Kristin Kreuk at two films (she sat by herself both times, and even stayed for all of Redacted) and seeing Pauly Shore walking past one of my lineups. That wasn’t really a highlight at all actually."
Kristin, along with her Smallville co-star Allison Mack will be judges at the A Cappella Innovation in Albany, New York. The event will take place from Nov 30th-Dec 2nd at THE EGG - Center for the Performing Arts. Entry fee all three days is FREE.
On the A Cappella Innovation site they have a bio on Kristin, with the usual write-up about her career... besides this:
quote:"Kristin wants to encourage and inspire honest and compassionate personal introspection and expression; building a greater understanding of humanity and compassion for everyone so that we begin to work together with an understanding of the connectedness of all things."

bchydro.com has updated their Team Power Smart sections with Bios on each of the Power Smart Team Leaders. Kristin being one of the leaders, of course has a page devoted to her with the following written in it:
quote:"Currently starring as Lana Lang in the long-running hit TV series Smallville, this Vancouver actress is still in her mid-20s yet can boast a string of prestigious credits, from Vic Sarin's recent feature film Partition to CBC's popular teen drama Edgemont… Although her exotic beauty may have gotten her noticed (her heritage is Dutch and Chinese), it's her acting chops that keep her working hard… When not on-set, she loves hanging out in her hometown, especially shopping for food on Granville Island… If the acting ever dried up, she'd probably go to university for environmental studies."
Along with Kristin's long time favorite quote “Be the change you wish to see in the world" and a new picture of her at the Team Power Smart Kickoff:
HELEN SLATER RETURNS AS LARA-EL; CLARK MEETS HIS BIOLOGICAL MOTHER FOR THE FIRST TIME — Clark (Tom Welling) hears the voice of his biological mother, Lara (guest star Helen Slater), calling for help from Kara’s (Laura Vandervoort) crystal and decides to release her, despite Jor-El’s warnings. Lara and Clark reunite and she gives him Jor-El’s ring, which contains blue kryptonite. As Clark puts it on, he realizes Zor-El (guest star Christopher Heyerdahl) manipulated the whole thing and that blue kryptonite strips him of his powers, enabling Zor-El to take control of the Fortress of Solitude.
Meanwhile, Chloe (Allison Mack) and Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) each discover Lois (Erica Durance) and Grant (Michael Cassidy) have been seeing each other and warn them to stop. Kristin Kreuk, Aaron Ashmore and John Glover also star.

quote:"Grab a newspaper and head over to Caffe Artigiano on Hornby Street. (You'll need the paper to peek out from behind, as the place fills up with Hollywood types.) Kristin Kreuk, of Smallville fame, is a regular, and Benjamin Bratt has been known to stop in for an espresso."
Kristin was mentioned in Allison Mack's video blog when asked, who are her rolemodels and who does she look to for inspiration:
quote:" That is a great question! I think I look to everyone for inspiration, I think I find inspiration from people around me all the time. Someone who I am constantly inspired by is Kristin Kreuk I think she is unbelievable person, and just really amazing soul and I'm always inspired by her and the way she behaves in the world and the things she upholds in herself and in other people I think it's really amazing."
You can view the video below or just visit Allison's official website AllsionMack.com:

quote:"For some time now we've heard about the possibility of industry strikes and how they might derail up-coming movies, but with the Writer's Guild of America (WGA) sanctioning the strike process this week, little has been said about how this might affect TV shows. Will "Smallville" be affected by the strikes? Quite possibly according to Executive Producer Al Gough.
"Yes, it will affect all scripted TV", Al Gough told the Superman Homepage. "Not sure what this means for the season, that depends on how long the strike lasts. But if it's a long one, you won't see new episodes after the middle of February."
"Please understand that no writer wants a strike," adds Gough, "but the issues we are fighting for will determine not only our future in the digital age, but the future of generations of writers to come. If we don't take a stand now, that future will look pretty bleak."
If the strikes do impact on "Smallville" what will it mean for the current season?
"If the season is cut short, we have planned for a cliffhanger", explains Al Gough. "That's all I can really say right now.""
There's also another statement by Al Gough along with photos of Al Gough and Miles Miller picketing over at Kryptonsite.com.
In the latest Smallville Magazine it advertised that in next month's December issue, edition #24 there will be an interview with Kristin.
Awesome news, right? Thing is the last time Smallville Magazine advertised an interview with Kristin to be released in there magazine, it didn't appear in the said issue it was supposed to be featured in nor in any of the later issues. Hopefully they'll come through this time!
quote:"So, sometime last year, Kaare had been promising me pages on a project we’d been working on for a while. Unbeknownst to me, Mr. Andrews, Renaissance man that he is, had received some monies from a Canadian broadcaster to write and direct a short film called Dream Princess. It stars the lovely Kristin Kreuk, no doubt familiar to many of you as TV’s Lana Lang. Eventually Kaare fessed up and told me about his conflicting assignments. I was genuinely happy for Kaare; this was Wonderful news for him, but a bit unfortunate for my erstwhile book..."
