Time Warner Inc.'s Warner Bros. Television Group says TheWB.com will replay full episodes of shows such as "Friends" and "Smallville" along with made-for-online shows. The site is set to launch in a test format next month."
quote:"Its website, TheWB.com, is scheduled to debut in August and will feature episodes of such popular Warner Bros.-produced series as "Friends," "The O.C." and "Gilmore Girls." However, Rosenblum believes that original programming created specifically for the Internet ultimately will be a bigger hit among the under-35 audience that advertisers seek."
TheWB site is up with a default interface at the moment!
Josie Ho is currently in Thailand working on her first western film "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li". She will be playing the character Cantana, a lesbian, who will play the "love interest" of Kristin Kreuk who plays Chun Li. From the film, Cantana and Chun Li are originally enemies, but when Chun Li finds out that Cantana is a lesbian, she pretends to be one as well in order to seduce Cantana for revenge, which ultimately leads to their fight scene. Although filming process only started last week, Josie Ho already has many bruises.
Also, the production company for this movie has already established an official blog site where updates on filming and storyboards can be seen."
quote:"Hollywood film producers has already produced a movie based on the video game "Street Fighter" in 1994 and now, 14 years later, they're producing a new version called "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li".
"The Legend of Chun-Li" will be filmed in Thailand (Bangkok), Hong Kong and Vancouver, starring Kristin Kreuk who plays Chun Li, Josie Ho, Pei Pei Cheng, Michael Clark Duncan and Chris Klein and directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak and Dion Lam as the stunt director. Currently the crew is in Thailand filming and Josie will be flying there today to join them.
Josie told the interviewer on the phone: "My scenes are mainly fighting with Chun Li and there's a particular scene where Chun Li and I are on top of a very tall building. We fight until we're at the very bottom and then the building collapses." We asked Josie if she bought insurance and she replies "The film company has already bought it for all actors." For the fight scenes, Josie has already started preparing three months ago, mainly learning boxing and Tae Kwon Do."

The CW released the official description to 7.20 Arctic, the season 7 finale of Smallville:
quote:"LEX DISCOVERS CLARK’S SECRET — Kara (Laura Vandervoort) tells Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) he is destined to defeat the Traveler and offers to take him to the Fortress to learn how. Clark (Tom Welling) is stunned that Kara would go to Lex but it is revealed that Brainiac is impersonating Kara and she’s actually trapped in the Phantom Zone. Chloe is arrested by the Department of Domestic Security and Lana awakens from her comatose state. Meanwhile, in an epic turn of events, Clark and Lex face off in the Fortress and Lex learns Clark’s secret."
Though a lot of us assumed Lana wouldn't be seen all season (I assumed it as well) because of Kristin's time in Thailand.... It's been brought to my attention (thanks Jess) that Kristin filmed a scene of Smallville in Thailand. One has to assume it's for this episode. Because so far there's no word of Lana appearing in any of the other episodes this season!
Credit to K-Site for the description and thanks to Jess for the info!
Street Fighter - The Legend of Chun-Li Official Blog "Week 2" blog entry is back up! News of this blog entry was reported on Thursday. Though moments after it being posted, it was take down! Now it's back up and it's been up all day today so I'm going to assume it's officially up!
The Week 2 blog entry update was up on the Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li Official Site earlier today titled: "Exclusive first look at Robin Shou as Gen". Though as soon as it went up, it was taken down.
The blog entry had the following in it:
- Exclusive peek at Robin Shou as Gen (photo or video?).
- A really interesting little article by the writer explaining how he approached writing the script, and why the focus on Chun-Li for this one.
Pei-pei Cheng son has written a blog entry on his website: Alivenotdead.com where he posted images of Kristin and his mother on the set, confirmed that the film will release sometime in Spring 2009, that they'll be two other films that'll follow The Legend of Chun-Li:
quote:"This week I had the honor and fortune to accompany my mother on the set of Street Fighter: The Legends of Chung Li. I have to say it was a magical experience. I truly enjoyed every bit of it, and it has inspired me. I know what you are thinking, Street Fighter? They are making another one of those? The Last one was Terrible! Contrary our Van Damn days, this street fighter has a dialogue. My mother asked me weather or not she should do this part in this movie. I was not convinced with the street fighter name, but after reading the scrīpt, I was highly impressed. Street Fighter is going to be one of the few studio movies that I will look forward to seeing next spring...
...We were greeted by Andre the director. Going through rehearsal, I contributed a small effort to teach Kristin Kirk (Chung-Lee) Mandarin. After rehearsal, I was looking forward to the next day's shooting. Patrick one of the Producers was really excited to have my mom in the movie. He explained to me that her part may have been small, but it was very iconic. Apparently her role was similar to the oracle in The Matrix, or Yoda in Star Wars. Needless to say they planned on having her back in Street Fighter II and III"

Maxim.com highlights "Street Fighter" in their Entertainment section:
quote:"The classic video game is being made into a movie once again. This time around, Jean-Claude Van Damme´s phone isn´t ringing.
1. Kristin Kreuk Character: Chun-Li Smallville´s Lana Lang is ready to squeeze into the miniskirt of everyone´s favorite helicopter-kicking heroine. This satisfies both game geeks who will only accept a certified hottie in the role of Chun-Li, and Kristin Kreuk fans who´ve been longing to see her do splits while dressed as a schoolgirl."
Right now it's a blog that'll have weekly entries with exclusive scoops, stories, cast & crew interviews, artwork, set photos and video footage from the set!
Here's some of the first week entry:
quote:"Meanwhile, Chun Li, Cantana and 400 Thai extras have gotten a little…’too close for comfort’ in a scene that’s sure to capture the um…affections of all you male Kristin Kreuk and Josie Ho fans out there. "
There's also a storyboard that shows Chun-Li in action!
Google alerts has been going off all day today on Partition releasing on DVD, which was really confusing to me because the DVD has already released.
Realmovienews.com has the DVD releasing on August 3rd of this year (WRONG). While as Canadian Press has it releasing sometime between the 6th-12th of this month. Then we have Yahoo!Movies and NJ.com stating the DVD will release today April 8th. which seems to be correct.
Amazon.com has the movie releasing today and I assume it's the official American release.
The features on the DVD don't seem to be that different (reading from the Realmovienews.com review) from the Canadian release. Only changes are the Spanish subtitles and the box cover:

quote:"Is that a kind of pressure that you feel as a young actress being on a popular TV drama?
KK: "I don't feel that much pressure. That's probably because I live in Vancouver, my hometown. If I lived in Los Angeles, maybe I feel more pressure. They shoot Smallville in Vancouver so I can meet my family and old friends and go to my favorite shops and places even during shooting. I guess I'm very lucky."
What do you do on your free time?
KK: "I love reading so I spend many hours reading books. Also I like to talk to my friends, go to movies, and walk around the city and the beach. And I like to find places where you can be completely alone. Places where no one is out there, just me. Then I sing out loud. I'm so bad at singing I can't sing where people are around. You can find these kinds of places here in Vancouver.""
quote:"I was in Thailand getting beat up, shooting street fighter. Yes, the video game street fighter is now being made into a film from Hollywood. These photos are all the bruises I got from fighting Chun Li, play by Kristen Dreuk."

quote:"Rosenbaum enjoys Kreuk's company and found her presence on the set really helped his performance. "I really like her, I think she is a really nice woman.", he says. "She has some great moments. I don't think I've ever seen anybody give me off camera what she gave me. When she was off camera, in a scene where I was supposed to be upset, she'd cry. I was blown away. She'd really be crying. Id look at her and say 'I love you. You're so cool. She was very supportive, and she brought out a lot of great things in me, and I hope I did that for her as well. I really appreciate her, and I think she's great."
