quote:"One of those actors to benefit from the series' wide exposure is Vancouver actress Kristin Kreuk.
Kreuk was a teenager who had had roles in an ABC-TV movie and in the Canadian teen series Edgemont when she auditioned for the role of Lana Lang, girlfriend of a teenage Clark Kent. She starred on the show for its first seven years, appearing in five episodes during the eighth season.
" Smallville was the first thing I did that got recognition, and it did everything for my career," said Kreuk. "It had me working consistently for the beginning of my adult life.
" Smallville cast a lot of local actors, which was really great. It was a really nice environment to work in. The crew was incredible, and it was like a family. Unlike being in L.A., you're not on a lot. You're with each other, there's nobody else there, and you see each other more than you see anyone else in your life.
"The show was incredibly supportive of everybody there," said Kreuk, who now co-heads with two friends (including fellow Smallville actor Allison Mack) the production company Parvati Creative "We all really looked after each other and cared for each other, and it made for a wonderful environment to grow up in. I essentially grew up on that set.""
quote:"We’re in no position to disagree with Superman. And seeing as Kristin Kreuk played Clark Kent’s childhood sweetheart Lana Lang in Smallville for eight long years, it’s only fair we worship her. Plus, the 27-year-old Canadian has a penchant for kicking ass that emerged recently in 2009’s Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li. We haven’t seen it, because no one has, but Kreuk said of her training schedule: “I did karate and all that kind of stuff.” So don’t say it’s garbage, or she’ll destroy you."
On Chuckgasmic you can vote for Hannah for your favorite character in season 3 of Chuck! You guys better vote because even the webmaster of Chuckgasmic wants you to, this what he said in his latest podcast about it:
quote:"Any Kristin Kreuk fans...go to chuckgasmic.com...and ah vote for Kristin...vote for Kristin I want her to win!....so ALL Kristin Kreuk fans...and I know...let me tell you when they linked to our podcast the last time; we got like 1,000 and something more hits...[2nd commentator: oh, they (her fans) are serious] they are like...we can link a 'chuck' site and we wouldn't get that many hits just from them specifically...so I think we ended up with 1,500 to 1,600 total from two different sites....[2nd commentator: just change your thing to Hannah me Mondays...]"
I don't think Kristin will be playing a vampire, but chances are high that she will be playing someone suicidal, even if she's not one of the two female leads.
Here's part of the description for the female leads. The full descriptions contains spoilers:
LADYBIRD In her 20s - early 30s. She is a lost, confused young woman carrying a painful burden on her shoulders, the weight of which has driven her to find someone to commit suicide with. She seems to be a nice but rather gullible; plain and modest. Beautiful but unhappy.
JELLYFISH (FRANNY PIERCE) Age 18-25, she is a gaunt drug addict who wants to kill herself. She is always high on something, such as prescription pills. She meets Simon online and they promise to commit suicide together.
The other possible parts are:
MARSHA LUZINSKI This 25 year old woman meets Simon on the beach. Giggling and cavorting like a schoolgirl, she gives little indication that she and Simon have actually met on a fatal errand. In fact, Marsha is well aware of her impending doom -- but is surprisingly carefree about the situation.
VIRGINIA WOOLF This suicidal young woman in her 20s or 30s has trolled the Internet to find some people to join her suicide pact. However, more people show up than Simon could have anticipated.
This is the story from the casting breakdown:
STORY LINE: Simon is a young biology teacher who believes he is a vampire; but the only thing he has in common with the 'popular' kind portrayed by the media's current obsession is that he must drink blood. He lives his life as normally as possible; he teaches his students and cares for his ailing mother, but at the same time he searches for his next victim while not getting caught. When Simon finally tastes a moment of real happiness, he must also face the consequences of his actions...
Chuckgasmic talks about Kristin and how they want her to return for the 4th season of Chuck because the series needs another strong female character. Fast Forward to 24:00, then after listening to that fast forward to 66:00:
quote:"PW: What would you like to see next season? Tom: I’d like to see him get out of the trouble he got into at the end of last season [laughs]. But mostly I’d like to see him with Lex again, I’d like to see Michael [Rosenbaum] back. I think it’d be cool to see Lana and Lois in the same room, that would be very interesting for Clark to be a part of. There’s Justice League possibilities, there’s a lot going on. Ten will be a huge season!"
I don't find that to be cool or interesting... how about you guys?!
quote:"A hot cast of young Western stars has joined Vampire, the English-language debut of Japanese director Iwai Shunji, including Keisha Castle-Hughes and Rachael Leigh Cook.
Also on board the film, which started shooting in Vancouver last week, are Kristin Kreuk (Smallville), Adelaide Clemens (X-Men: Origins) and Trevor Morgan (Mean Creek). Previously announced cast includes Kevin Zegers, Amanda Plummer and Japanese star Yu Aoi.
Produced by Rockwell Eyes in conjunction with Convergence Entertainment, Vampire was pre-sold as part of the producer’s financing arrangements to the Middle East, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea and Japan. Fortissimo Films is handling sales for the rest of the world and co-repping North American rights with Rockwell Eyes."
Julia Ling of Chuck talks about Kristin in her interview with TVsquad.com:
quote:"What did you think when you saw Hannah, another Nerd Herd girl, on the show while you were gone? She was actually really cute. I enjoyed watching Kristin Kreuk. It was like, she was filling in for Anna. It was like here's Hannah instead of Anna. That was kind of cool to me. I really enjoyed her performance. And she got to kiss Chuck."
Zachary Levi of Chuck was questioned during a Q&A who enjoys working with more, Superman or Lana Lang and he of course choose Lana Lang. Fast forward video to 1:00:
