Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer Talk Kristin's Return
Posted by Webmistress on 2008-07-29
Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer talk about Kristin's return to Smallville the members of the press at Comic Con. From Kryptonsite.com:
quote:"One call-back to the show's earlier times comes with the return of Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lang for five episodes of the series, most likely airing during November sweeps. "We can't wait. It's going to come at a very bad time for Clark," Slavkin reveals. "She will look different. Visually, it will not be the Lana Lang that we're used to seeing. We're very excited," he says.
"Of course, she'll be just as beautiful as always," Darren Swimmer adds. [Reports say Kristin Kreuk has cut her hair to be very short].
"She's grown up," Todd reveals. "She's left Smallville and she's going to come back a woman. Obviously, she was a woman since she got married, but she's [still] a kid. She was living in the same town her whole life. This is her chance to come back with a stronger point of view than she ever has [had]," he says."
A huge Kristin fan finally got the opportunity to meet Kristin at Comic Con and here's her story of the encounter:
quote:"I first walked up (nervous as hell lol) and she was the first one to say "Hi" with a beautiful, friendly smile of hers....and she asked for my name...she was personalizing the autographs....I told her and held up my comic con pass that had my name on it and then I blanked out for a mini-second lol...that is when she asked if "I was having a good time"....I said "yes" (and I came back from the cloud I was in and reacted...thank god lol).....I told her I was a big fan of hers (understatement of the year lol)...that I love her on Smallville....which made me remember I had brought a Smallville Magazine for her to sign (the one where she is on the cover) and she did.....and that she made me cry with her performance in "Partition"....and she smiled really big with that one and nodded her head agreeing that it was a very sad film....I also told her that I thought her work on GBD was a great thing, that I know I am not necessarily part of the demographics but I thought it was wonderful....I guess at this point she REALLY realized I was a BIG fan of hers......all the while she had the most friendly smile and told me to keep my eye out for any new GBD newsletters....I said that I would and thanked her....gave her a thumbs up and she gave me a thumbs up back and it was time for me to go and my hubby to be up...Thank you Kristin for such a wonderful fan experience!!!!!"
Kreuk's Big, Beautiful Old House Needs an Energy Upgrade
Posted by Webmistress on 2008-07-24
BC Hydro interviewed Kristin recently on her home needing an energy upgrade and what she's doing to save energy:
quote:"Kreuk was up for the sustainability challenge because she's been a recycler since she was a kid, and her mom was the keen type of environmentalist who would sew cloth grocery bags.
"I think growing up in Vancouver a lot of people are this way," she says. "I totally grew up with that."
Kreuk recently returned from three and a half months in Thailand where she finished playing Chun Li in the Streetfighter: The Legend of Chun Li, based on the video game. Kreuk, who was a competitive gymnast and practices yoga, trained for the movie for five weeks.
Until a few years ago, the 25-year-old actress starred in the teen drama Edgemont. She continues to play Lana Lang in Smallville, shot on location in Vancouver, and she's also been a spokes model for Neutrogena. She had no reservations about embracing her newest role as a Team Power Smart member."
quote:"Kristen Kreuk is a) not as tiny as I thought she would be (but is even hotter in RL) and b) is in tight shape. She's clearly been taking her role as Chun-Li seriously; she looks like she could bust into a Spinning Bird Kick at a moment's notice. Capcom's marketing diva Emily (far right) has been anointed as Kristen's bodyguard for some reason, which is pretty funny considering the two of them are about the same size and I don't think Em would be able to take down a rampaging Smallville fan without resorting to pepper spray or some sort of spiked club....
...Kristen was incredibly nice and signed for almost two hours. not surprisingly, she's a super-celeb here at comic-con, and she was totally cool to all her fans who waited patiently to meet her."
More to come stay tune!
By the by, if you were there and want to share your encounter or photos with us, please email me at KristinKreukWeb@gmail.com. Much appreciated!
quote:"TVGuide.com: What can you say about the statuses of Kristin Kreuk (Lana)...
Slavkin: Kristin will return for at least five episodes this season. [Lana] will appear at an inopportune time for Clark. We don't want to give away when it will happen, but it's going to be an awesome moment in the history of Smallville when Kristin Kreuk comes back."
quote:"Any scoop on when Kristin Kreuk will be returning to Smallville? — Ian Ausiello: Would you believe sweeps? Shocking, I know. According to exec producer Brian Wayne Peterson, who I cornered at The CW's press tour party last week, Kreuk's five-episode stint as Lana will kick off in early November."
quote:"Hey all!!! So Kristin and I will be at Comic-Con tomorrow (Thursday) and we’d love to get your Sexy 7 on film (IF you are a female… please). Stop by the autograph line for Street Fighter (Capcom’s booth, we’ll be there from 12 - 1) and we’ll grab you while you’re in line and record your fabulous Sexy 7 to our snazzy HD Camera!"
quote:"We had movie night here at GBD Central, which was good times… Our inaugural Movie Monday movie was “Real Women Have Curves”. Firstly, America Ferrera is so lovely! We had seen her in travelling pants and she was really sweet in that too. Since this isn’t really a traditional review, we aren’t going to get into the details of our artistic evaluation of the movie."
quote:"As a bonus, Kristin Kreuk was having dinner on the patio, which thrilled the pair of Calgarians to no end.
So, we had dinner, Kristin Kreuk is there. Giggles all round. We leave before her and her group, and cross the street for gelato. Yum. As we’re sitting and eating our desert, the Kristin Kreuk Krew come in for some iced confections as well. Polite smiles. Fair play. She dances to the cheesy pop on the radio a bit, and Calgarians applaud. A little forward. They leave. We leave. We get in car and drive, and that’s when we pass her and beau (ok, alleged beau) who are walking. So, they must live in the DON’T ALL STARE! Sure enough, they look at us all looking at them. OK, kind of creepy now.
The next day, I’m leaving a mom and pop shop and who’s coming in? Kristin Kreuk. Awkward.
But, I can confirm that Kristin Kreuk lives in Mount Pleasant. S’true.
As you may have noticed, we have an affinity for the alliteration. Naturally, any idea having to do with movies would fall on a Monday. Unless we called it “Film Fridays”, or some other equally as brilliant a name. But when you weigh the words film and movie, movie is much less pretentious, and that suits us more. Therefore… Movie Mondays! Credit to the Facebook team for the idea!
Here is how this sucker works…. 1) On Monday, GbD will present a movie for all of us to watch. 2) We watch the movie. 3) On the following Monday, GbD will blog about their thoughts on the movie. And we can discuss it in the comments section. The movie for that week will be presented in the same entry.
Clear? If not, let us know. Would love your suggestions for movies!
First Movie Monday movie is….. “Real Women Have Curves”!
Enjoy! Until Monday next… Kristin (and everyone else…)"
quote:"A friend of ours has always spoken so highly of Emily, and we think that what she is doing is really rad… Sustaining our environment is something most of us value, but we don’t always know how to go about doing it. In the immortal words of NKotB, (for those younger than me– New Kids on the Block, who are attempting a come-back as we write this) “Step by step, oooo ba-a-by…” Yes, I am THAT cool. So check out the video, and feel free to share your thoughts, suggestions and questions… To vote for Emily, go to http:www.3rdwhale.com!

quote:"Can you please tell me when during Season 8 Kristin Kreuk will be back on Smallville? And how many episodes will Lana be in? — Ian
Matt: At this early point, all I can say is that KK will not be back for the season opener, since that eppy is already chock full of Justice Leaguing goodness. Kristin will be back, though, for multiple episodes"
