A lot fans are wondering when Private Wars' production will start, from the looks of it doesn't seem anytime soon:
quote:"Hey guys, I remember somebody (or maybe more than one...can't remember the details) asked when production started on this film, and so when I was talking to Mark today I asked him about the production. He said that he doesn't know since they're still hard at work on the script!
Seems like Kristin will be in Private Wars after all, from Joy Metcalfe's blog on CKNW.com:
quote:"Enthusiastic turnout for Mark Hildreth's concert on Saturday night at the Art's Club's Backstage Lounge. The Vancouver singer, songwriter and actor recently returned from two sold-out shows in Los Angeles and had top musicians, Adrian Glynn and Ben Sigston, as back-up.
Mark appeared recently in Johnny Depp's hit movie, "Pirates of the Carribean 3" and is scheduled to star along with Kristen Kreuk and Justin Chatwin (War of the Worlds) in the upcoming screen adaptation of "Private Wars". He's currently recording his debut release with Matthew Good and Midnight Oil producer Warne Livesey with the album slated for release next spring."
Today a few Lana related spoilers came out, one which is awesome, another which isn't new and truth be told I still have a hard time believing due to who it's coming from.
SPOILERS BELOW
First spoiler of the day, Miles Miller was interview by Voices of Krypton.com where he confirms that Clark and Lana will be giving it a more serious, real try at a relationship and that Kara will be one of their obstacles, as well as the typical "superhero dilemma."
quote:"Amelia in New Mexico: Give us more on the Smallville clonage!
The misdirection you all think you've identified in the finale is not the death misdirection to look for. And we can eliminate Antarctica and South America as Lana landing zones..."
Kristin was briefly mentioned on ET Canada last week. They basically it said that Lana was blown up in last season's finale, but she'll return in the next season. To see how it all goes down, watch the premiere this fall. They showed some footage from the opening credits, and a clip of Kristin at the Parition premiere.
quote:"The Smallville season premiere is still weeks away, but my inbox has been overloaded with questions regarding L.L.—not Mr. Cool J (though we have scoop on him today) or Lindsay Lohan, mind you, but one Miss Lana Lang.
Yes, she might have been blown to smithereens in last May's season finale, but as my crack team announced in the spoiler chat on Monday, Kristin Kreuk has signed on for the upcoming season and Lana will definitely be back. So, inquiring fans want to know, how the bloody hell are the writers gonna pull off that?!
Well, Big, Fat Spoiler Alert! Let me be the first to tell you the inside storyline scoop: Lana's salvation involves cloning. Yep, you heard me right. Cloning! The Francinator and Buffy Bot had better step aside, because TV has a new Doublemint twin of freaky-deaky generation.
I'll tell you more in Monday's chat, but for now you gotta tell me in the Comments section below: Am I the only one giggling at the thought of Lana 2.0? I mean, this is Smallville, and I'm sure the writers will knock it out of the park, but I just can't shake the feeling Clana's genesis will somehow involve lonely Lex, a bottle of tequila and a little weird science."
I personally don't believe this clone business and honestly believe this source Kristin from E!online is referring to is some speculation from a message board...
Though, if it ends up being true I'm not against the idea since I'm all for double the Kreuk and I'm still holding out hope it was the clone who was pretending to be Lana at the end of season five and most of season six!
quote:"Question: Do you have any news about Lana from Smallville? Is Kristin Kreuk coming back?— Scott
Ausiello: (Spoiler alert) Prepare to not be surprised: Yes, I can confirm that she's coming back. But in order to maintain some air of mystery, I won't be revealing the following things about her return: 1) how she'll be brought back, 2) whether she'll be playing Lana, or 3) how long she'll be sticking around for."
Jenny who sighted Kristin on the Smallville set last week (reported on Sunday), shared some spoilers with me and this is what she had to report.
- When she was on the set they were still working on episode Bizzaro and Kara.
- There was a Shanghai apartment scene, a Shanghai apartment bedroom scene and a Shanghai street market scene.
- Kristin was on set the day these scenes were supposed to be shot according to the memo that was seen by Jenny.
- She also said the way it looks, that Lana will be appearing in the first episodes but she'll be in Shanghai at the time, not Smallville. I guess that's the person Lex was looking for in China.
Other spoiler report, a member on Kryptonsite.com username Sid is reporting the following:
- When he spotted the cast/crewing filming, they were filming the episode Fierce
- When talking to the P.A. on the set, the P.A. said that Lana is alive.
- The P.A. also showed him his production sheet and Kristin was on the call sheet to do a few lines during the Corn Festival scene.
- He also said that Lana may go back to Clark.
- It is also said, Lana will be the surprise visitor in Clark's barn in the episode.
Nicolas, the webmaster of Kreuk-Central.net emailed Cheryl Kaye Tardi regarding the article she wrote about wanting Kristin to play the lead character Sarah in the film based on her best selling novel Whale Story. This is what she had to say:
quote:"Yes, I certainly do want to ask Kristin Kreuk to consider it. Do you have her email addy? Seriously, I will be looking at trying to get a copy of Whale Song in her hands sometime soon. In the end, it is up to the producer to decide who plays the role. But hopefully, I'll be able to give a few suggestions.
Thank you for the email and for reading the article."
Cheryl Kaye Tardif a bestselling Canadian author speculates about which actresses might best portray her character of Sarah in a film adaptation of her latest novel, Whale Song:
quote:"As I wrote the novel back in 2003, I could see the story roll across my inner vision, frame by frame, like a movie on slow motion. I saw the main character ‘Sarah’, who begins the story in the prologue as a mid-twenties ad exec. She then flashes back to her life as a child. In 2003, I imagined the younger Sarah being played by actress Mackenzie Rosman from TV’s 7th Heaven fame. Mackenzie has Sarah’s dark (Italian?) looks and tenacious spirit. But we’d need a younger actress to play Sarah now.
I also had a clear picture of who would play the adult Sarah. Kristin Kreuk, ‘Lana’ from the popular TV show Smallville. Again, she has the darker coloring, and I think she’s a wonderful actress who knows how to pull off emotional scenes."
I normally don't post fan made videos on here, if ever... but this one was too good to pass up! It's a promo trailer for the 7th season of Smallville based on Lana's return to Smallville after faking her death:
Thanks to knotnamed for the heads up and credit goes to videfygravity for making the trailer!
quote:"With the news that the Spice Girls will be kicking off now there’s a bad pun — their reunion tour here in Vancouver, one would think that Vancouver’s celebrity train might just keep chugging forever. Particularly if you’d been dining at Cin Cin last week, when Miguel Ferrer, Will Yun Lee, and the controversial Isaiah Washington all of whom are appearing in NBC’s re-imagined Bionic Woman series — made appearances at the popular restaurant. Even Smallville’s Kristin Kreuk was observed enjoying a lovely multi-course dinner on the terrace with a friend."
quote:"Another permanent fixture on the local acting scene was spotted chowing down at Cin Cin restaurant on Robson a few days back. Vancouver's own Kristen Kreuk has got to be one of the most steadily employed actors in town, having appeared in well over 100 episodes in the Superman saga Smallville since it began in 2001. Lately Kreuk has been working on Season 7 of the popular show, which shows no signs of slowing down. Between seasons, she's manged to star in other locally made productions such as Partition and the tv drama Earthsea with Isabella Rossellini."
quote:"The fight between Lois and Kara is going to be intense. But Millar said the "highlight" of first few episodes next season will be "a Lana-Kara showdown!"
Great Caesar's ghost! Does that mean Lana survived the explosion at the end of last season?
"Whoops!" Millar gasped. Then the comic backpedaling began. "She died in the explosion! Lana's dead! She died!
"There's a reason I don't do these things," he laughed, referring to press interviews. "I reveal the secrets of Smallville!""
