Earthsea is featured in the new December issue of SCI FI Magazine with an article by Tara Dilullo, titled Must Sea TV.

It goes behind-the-scenes with the cast and crew of the miniseries. Kristin Kreuk is on the cover. In addition, Earthsea creator Ursula K. Le Guin is also interviewed in the magazine.

Here is what Director Robert Lieberman had to say about casting Kristin and her costar Shawn Ashmore.

I tend to try to cast things organically and that feel, initially, when you look at it right. When you put Kristin Kreuk next to Shawn Ashmore, they look like the bride and groom on top of the wedding cake. They look somehow like they belong together.

The second annual cocktail reception was thrown by Brightlight Pictures, a prominent Vancouver production company, and Vancouver Film Studios, at which major players celebrate the film and television industry.

ABC Family has released its schedule of episodes for its Smallville Marathon, which will debut the series on the cable network on Saturday, Oct. 2 from 2-8 p.m. (ET/PT).

Episodes will include the two-hour version of "Pilot) at 2 p.m.; "X-Ray" at 4 p.m.; "Heat" at 5 p.m.; "Red" at 6 p.m and "Whisper" at 7 p.m.

The Smallville Backstage Special will then air at 8 p.m., with an encore at 9 p.m. Smallville will debut in its regular 7 p.m. time spot on Monday, Oct. 4.

The Smallville Yearbook is hitting stores in the UK September 16. This huge magazine will include 100 pages packed with:

ABC Family is kicking off its run of Smallville in a big way. The cable network will show six episodes back-to-back at 2 p.m. (ET/PT) on Saturday, Oct. 2 and follow that with Smallville Backstage Special at 8 p.m.

Smallville will then air weekdays at 7 p.m. (ET/PT) beginning on Monday, Oct. 4. Every episode will air in sequence, beginning with the first season.

The Smallville Backstage Special will feature Tom Welling (Clark Kent), Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang), John Schneider (Jonathan Kent), Annette O'Toole (Martha Kent), Allison Mack (Chloe) and John Glover (Lionel Luther), and be filmed on the Kent farm, taking viewers to one of the key locations of the Smallville series.

The cast will recount their experiences during the past three seasons and discuss their favorite episodes and humorous moments on the set.

The special will be hosted by Brooke Burke. It is scheduled to tape on Saturday, Sept. 18.
