Valentine's Day with Kristin

I sat down, in anticipation of John Mayer at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver (2/14/04).

My friend turned to me and said, "So... do you watch Smallville?" I was like, "Hell ya!"

I figured it was a pretty normal question, so I went back to anticipating for the show...

A couple minutes later, I looked at the people sitting in front of me and was like, "Hmm.. these people look familiar..."

But they were wearing big red hats (and coordinating outfits) so I couldn't quite tell who they were...

Some girl from afar yells, "Hey, Smallville!" And the blonde chick in front of me gets up and yells back "What? My name's not Smallville!"

Then it hit me, Oh my god it's Allison Mack! and .. and.. Kristin Kreuk!!!!

So I was pretty much banging my head on my chair because I didn't bring a camera. Noooooooooooo! And I didn't even have one of those little camera phones.

BUT I had a Sharpie (I was going to meet John Mayer after the show), so at least I got an autograph.

But I'm still angry at myself for not bringing a camera. It's not like I would have known they would be in front of me... but still... from now on, I'll just carry it with me everywhere... just in case... lol

Anyway, thank goodness for the mental photograph I have in my mind or else I'd have to take a Kristin picture and copy and paste my head into it. lol. And no, my friend didn't have a camera either (booooo) or else I wouldn't be complaining about not having mine. Any picture would be plenty enough... It doesn't have to be on my own camera.

I'm sure they were wearing hats to conceal themselves a bit. With a quick glance, I definitely wouldn't have been able to recognize Kristin beneath that. Allison's hat was smaller. It was a red beret. Kristin had a black top on... and that's about the extent I remember of it.

Well, to all my non-John Mayer-fan friends, they didn't get to meet Kristin and Allison, so hah to them (they were extremely jealous).

I got to watch half their bodies for two hours... Well, not that I was watching anyway, but they were up and dancing right in front of me. Kristin got tired after a while and sat down, but Allison stayed up.

I didn't really talk to them much because I didn't really want to bug them too much. I mean, they're there to enjoy themselves (hence, the trying not to get noticed).

When Kristin turned around (I don't know what she was looking at. She just turned around and looked directly at me), I pulled out my Sharpie and said, "Hey Kristin! Can I have an autograph?"

She smiled and said quietly, "Sure".

I gave her my GoCard (this bus pass thing for high school students) to sign (not much else I had with me at the time). She turned it around, checked my name, and then started signing away. She was really quiet actually. Normally, when I get autographs, I'm asked my name, rather than the person trying to figure it out for them selves, you know?

I know if I was a celebrity, I would like it if people didn't stop me on the street or wherever I was to get autographs. It must get so annoying after a while! BUT, since she was looking directly at me, I figured it was my opportunity to get her autograph without going out of my way. (There was a lady who did run over to talk to them, but she basically just got a picture and chatted for a minute or so.)

Just about then, I sighted her friend with a bunch of passes, and she was passing them around. I was like, "Oh my god are those passes!?"

And I was told, "No... No... These are just... uh... souvenirs".

So... they all had passes.

Then I looked at the guy next to me and he had a pass too... I felt so insignificant... or... well... maybe I just had great seats. (I later found out that he built drums for John Mayer)

During intermission, they (Kristin and her group) left to go backstage, and then they came back for the rest. They left the show during the last song because well, to beat the rush, obviously. Also, I guess they didn't want to be noticed at all that night.

I'm still killing myself for not bringing a camera... grrr. I didn't see a need for it at the time... but I suppose I should bring it with me everywhere now... just in case ... maybe Ill see them again?
*hits self*

And I have no clue why I didn't get Allison Mack's autograph. No clue whatsover. I feel like such an idiot. First, not having a camera, then this. Maybe because I was so ecstatic about having Kristin's that I totally forgot about Allison. *hits self again*

Kristin was with 3 other people. She was with Allison, and two other girls I didn't recognize. I figure they might have been Kristin's friends from high school or something.

Ah, I love Vancouver. You get to meet so many stars because so many movies are filmed here. This was the second encounter I've had with Kristin. The first was at the A&B Sound Seymour store. Well, it wasn't really an encounter. Basically, I saw her leaving the store when I was approaching the cashier... I wasn't going to chase after her. heh.

All things considered, I can now claim to have spent Valentine's Day evening with Kristin Kreuk. Isn't that something you'd love to tell your kids one day?
