Richmond Theater
By Leann

Well I didn't get to take a picture with her, but it was more of a personal choice. I work at a movie theatre in Richmond, BC and I was there before my shift to watch a movie. I was with my friend and noticed Kristin standing in the line for concession and had a little bit of a freak out before going up to ask for an autograph. Like I said, I didn't take a picture because I didn't want to make a scene when all my co-workers and managers were there. My theatre is actually notorious for having celebrities there while they're filming in Vancouver. When the Twilight cast was there, I saw Taylor Lautner and Selena Gomez but I was working and definitely could not go up to get an autograph at that time. Anyway, Kristin was really nice. She asked me for my name and signed my ticket stub (lol it was the only piece of paper I had on me) and gave me a hug. Really, really nice. Especially since I think she was with her sister and her dad.

A Restaurant in Vancouver

I can't believe I am typing this. Tonight I was at a restaurant in Vancouver and who walks in but Ms. Kristin Kreuk in the flesh with her boyfriend Mark!!!!!

I couldn't believe it. I was already sitting down for a while eating with my two girlfriends as she and Mark walked right past us to their table. When I first saw her it didn't register that it was her until I saw Mark. That's when I secretly (in my head) lost it. My poor friend was in mid-conversation when I started quietly to say 'Oh my god, Oh my god!' She looked at me funny and I tried to whisper who just walked in. I have talked about my KK obsession with most of my friends so she knew exactly who I was talking about. For the rest of the evening I couldn't even pay attention to my friends. I was sitting in a perfect spot because Kristin was 3 tables away, but exactly behind my friend so it looked like I was looking at my friend but the whole time I was looking at KK.

She was more stunning than I imagined. So beautiful and petite. Her hair was short but I have to admit it suited her (NOT LANA LANG!!). I like the cut better than the first photo I saw of her. Her and Mark were talking the ENTIRE time. Mostly it was KK talking. She uses her hands a lot and is very expressive. They were both drinking wine. I couldn't tell what they were eating. It's funny that my friends and I had to wait almost 30 minutes for a table yet her and Mark just walked right to a table and had their food ready in minutes. Maybe it's her celebrity connections lol.

So as I was 'discretely' staring at her and totally ignoring my poor friends I started to think... do I go up and talk to her? What would I say? How would she react? I really wanted to say how much of a a fan I was of hers and let her know how much I enjoy watching her as Lana and what a great job she has done. I discussed it with my friends and we came to the conclusion that I would embarrass myself too much and it would be kind of rude to go up to her during dinner.

So, I did the next best thing and conveniently got up and went to the restroom which happened to be right past her. I got a closer look at her while I walked by. Again, so stunning! She didn't look up because she was chatting away with Mark. I was soooo nervous.

I stared at her for a few more minutes before we left. She looked really sweet as she talked to the waiter. I couldn't really hear what she was saying, but occasionally I could hear her voice.

So that's pretty much it. I have now seen Kristin Kreuk in real life! I have to admit that I didn't really see any of Lana, if you know what I mean. I think it was the hair. It was all Kristin. Her mannerisms didn't seem like Lana.

Ok. So to my utter luck, Capcom was First come First Serve.

I was like 20 in line.

Kristin is even more beautiful in person. Incredibly sweet.

I almost got my ass kicked but she answered my questions FOR YOU GUYS. haha.

I asked her height. She said She was 5' 4''....ish

and I asked what perfume she used, (cause asking what she smelled like seemed even weirder >_> ) She said she didn't remember her perfume but it was something with vanilla mix. haha

and then she autographed this. Seems like a kick-ass screenshot of the movie:

I was so nervous at first...I guess the anticipation of meeting someone you have loved and enjoyed their work SO MUCH and someone you have spent A LOT of time talking about and admiring with fellow fans here at sweet...well, it just got to me....I literally teared up a bit after a while...it's funny but everything didn't really hit me until an hour later....I guess my body was still running on adrenalin until that point....

Kristin was so SWEET and WONDERFUL....I saw her walk down the stairs (the area where the gaming was set up) when she first arrived and walked over to the booth...She was the only one that took a seat (no Justin/screenwriter) and there were a whole stack of autograph pictures in front of her....as in the picture, she was wearing a beautiful long and flowery black and white dress....very elegant...very beautiful. It is just so surreal seeing her in person....Myles (the guy who beat me to the front of the line) was the first one to walk up...and I guess since everything was still "new" regarding crowd control and the fox people/security not wanting ANY pictures being taken of her that my hubby and I surprisingly had a nice length of time talking to her...

I first walked up (nervous as hell lol) and she was the first one to say "Hi" with a beautiful, friendly smile of hers....and she asked for my name...she was personalizing the autographs....I told her and held up my comic con pass that had my name on it and then I blanked out for a mini-second lol...that is when she asked if "I was having a good time"....I said "yes" (and I came back from the cloud I was in and reacted...thank god lol).....I told her I was a big fan of hers (understatement of the year lol)...that I love her on Smallville....which made me remember I had brought a Smallville Magazine for her to sign (the one where she is on the cover) and she did.....and that she made me cry with her performance in "Partition"....and she smiled really big with that one and nodded her head agreeing that it was a very sad film....I also told her that I thought her work on GBD [Girls By Design] was a great thing, that I know I am not necessarily part of the demographics but I thought it was wonderful....I guess at this point she REALLY realized I was a BIG fan of hers......all the while she had the most friendly smile and told me to keep my eye out for any new GBD newsletters....I said that I would and thanked her....gave her a thumbs up and she gave me a thumbs up back and it was time for me to go and my hubby to be up...Thank you Kristin for such a wonderful fan experience!!!!!

When my hubby went up...his encounter with KK was really adorable....he handed her a "Chun Li" artist autograph drawing (another long story) and told her that this was for his wife who was a very BIG fan of hers...and then he signaled at my direction and said she was the one you just talked to.....and he told me that she really laughed at that one ....and was pleasantly surprised when he handed her the artist drawing of Chun Li for her to sign...she then signed the sketch and she asked if he wanted an autograph picture for himself....in which he said, "yes!" < that was so SWEET of her to ask...again she was REALLY nice and friendly!

Again, a very wonderful fan experience!!!!

ETA I forgot to mention that she thanked me after every compliment....very sweet.

PS: It was a very large turn out....VERY LARGE! She really has a very strong and loyal fanbase as witnessed there....I forgot to add in my fan encounter ...that I told her: "We love you very much Kristin" right before I left (...like I said I was thinking of all of you and really wanting to let her know how loved she is by many....) I don't know if she found it weird that I said "we" instead of "I"....but in thinking of all of her fans present and not present (like you guys) that is where the collective "we" came from....I hope she knows that....unfortunately "hate" and "negativity" is louder than love.....that goes for a lot of things in this world....so hopefully her fan interaction was a positive one for her as it was for this one very devoted fan of hers.

I got to Albany at like 4pm yesterday, checked in my hotel and then at 5pm I made my way to "The Egg". I knew the concert wouldn't start till 7 but I went there 2 hours earlier with the hopes of somehow seeing Kristin. Didn't have high hopes at all but still I just had to try. The Egg turned out to be a weird shaped concrete building that kind of looked like an egg but at the same time it didn't - in other words - weird! I had bought my tickets online but had to go pick em up from the box office. Did that and was told to go 2 stories up to where the concert was gonna be. I got in the elevator and went to the second floor. The minute I walked out the elevator I saw a swarm of people eating pizza :)

Apparently this was the dinner provided for the bands taking part in the workshops. I gotta tell you, I've never seen so many people eating pizza at one place. So I decided to hang out there for a minute and figure out what I'm doing. While talking to my girlfriend discussing what we should do I saw Kristin eating pizza with a bunch of people that seemed to be in charge of the whole event.

She was standing probably 3 feet away from me. Looking absolutely gorgeous, smiling and laughing. At some point I realized I was staring at her so I had to kind of stop :) I was so excited that I didn't really know what to do. I asked my girlfriend - "Should I go say HI or should I not?". My girlfriend was all about "Go do it" but I thought that now wasn't the best moment since she was eating and there were quite a few people around her. I decided to wait for a better moment...knowing I might not get a second chance. To be honest with you I got kind of scared. I didn't want to look like a stalker who had come just to tell her how great she is! While I was debating what to do, all of a sudden she was done eating and started walking towards me. I was like "I gotta be dreaming!". Well I wasn't dreaming but there was a perfect explanation as to why she was walking directly towards me - behind me was the elevator :))))). So she came and stood right next to me while waiting for the elevator. At this point I was like - I don't care where this elevator is going but I'm getting on it. Everything happened so fast. Next thing you know I was on the elevator going stories down to the lobby level with Kristin Kreuk standing right next to me. She was telling her friends that it had been a while since she had a slice of pizza like that. Then they asked her how it felt and she was like "Not so great" and then they all started laughing. Before I knew it we had already arrived down to the lobby and we were exiting the elevator. She headed to the workshops' area and my girlfriend and I just stayed downstairs. At this point I couldn't believe what had just happened. There was still an hour to kill before the actual concert. So we walked around "The Egg" but believe me after seeing Kristin Kreuk nothing could really grab my attention. :))) At some point we decided to head back upstairs and wait to get good seats for the event. On our back to the elevators I saw Allison Mack walking down to the workshops area with some friend of hers. She was all smiling and stuff. Very pleasant and positive looking girl.

So we went upstairs and waited for about an hour before they actually opened the gates and let everyone in. My girlfriend and I were able to get seats at the very front row :) The show was about 15 minutes late but it was opened by Kristin, Allison and Nicki Clyne (from Battlestar Galactica). They did a short funny dance pretending to be Salt'n Pepa :) I couldn't believe how close they were from where we were sitting.

It was kind of dark in the theater but I was able to get a couple of good pictures. The first part of the event was college a cappella groups that had been judged earlier in the day performing their best songs. It was pretty cool considering the fact that these people were not professional musicians. Kristin and Allison loved their performances. They were sitting on the same first row but on the opposite side from me. I'll tell you though...both Kristin and Allison enjoyed 100% this event and all groups taking part in it. In between the different bands they would come to the stage and announce which group was next. Making jokes and stuff like that...it was great. The atmosphere was absolutely friendly and low key. All three girls made the whole audience feel like they were all friends with them. Amazing! After the first part of the show (which lasted about 45 minutes) was over a 20 minute break was announced. Most of the people left the theater and went to get something to eat/drink. Me being one of those people :) On my way back I saw Kristin and Allison sitting on their seats just chatting. At this point I was like "I don't think I'll get a better chance". I went to my seat where I had left my jacket, got a pen and a piece of paper and headed straight to them determined to get an autograph. Hehe, I guess I wasn't the only person who had noticed they were all alone. By the time I got my pen there was a small line of people waiting to get the same thing :) I stood there and patiently waited for my turn. 2 minutes later I was talking to both Allison and Kristin and they were signing my "A Cappella Innovations" flyer :) It was the moment of truth :) I introduced myself and told them I was from Bulgaria and that they have tons of fans there. Kristin actually said that she know where Bulgaria was and was quite surprised to hear that Smallville was popular in Eastern Europe. Everything happened so fast! Overall though both Allison and Kristin were super nice to all the fans. Gave a bunch of autographs and greeted everyone that had gone and talked to them. I was one of those lucky people. I think in general Kristin looked really down to earth person. Kind of shy but nonetheless very nice to all people. The whole evening she was smiling, dancing and enjoying herself big time. And last but certainly not least - in real life she's just as gorgeous as she is on TV. So if there are any people out there that actually think she's all "fixed" on TV - they are completely wrong. Her beauty is absolutely genuine. Even my girlfriend agreed with me on that one and let me tell you - that doesn't happen that often :)

After the break Kristin, Allison and Nicki went on stage and introduced an amazing a cappella band called The House Jacks! Those guys blew everyone away big time! It was an hour full of pure fun and entertainment. All the people including Kristin and Allison loved the band and had a blast! After the House of Jacks were done performing Kristin, Allison and Nicki came on stage to say their final words and invite everyone to the Sunday concert. And that was it....after that I didn't see Kristin anymore as she left the theater immediately after the concert was over.

I think it's really cool that she agreed to come to this event. It showed her as a person that cares about the real things in life. I respect her for that and I think it clearly shows what a good person she really is. Thumbs up to her and Allison Mack for agreeing to participate in this great event!

As for me I think this was one of the best nights in my entire life. A night I never think I'd forget for the rest of my life. The night I met Krisin Kreuk......:)

Body Worlds: Vancouver Convention «UP»
Ok, so here’s the thing, I was talking to my friend when he came from Vancouver to visit for a short time. He goes there for University. Anywase, we were telling each other about our lives and all that, and then I told him about Smallville, because after a few discussions about concerts and books, my life sucks, so I talk about Smallville. When I was telling him about this stupid season, he said these three little words, “I met Kristin.” Of course, I died, but after fanning myself into consciousness, he told me about his meeting with her.

He said that he met her in Vancouver in the Body Worlds convention in November, around 9-11. He was there with his girlfriend checking the place out then all of a sudden, he noticed someone looking awfully familiar. He asked his girlfriend if that girl he was looking at was Kristin Kreuk, and she said that it might be. When they kinda walked closer to her, they KNEW it was Kristin Kreuk!!

He said that she was with a blonde girl, which I presume was Kendra because he said that she had long hair, so it can’t be Allison Mack. She wasn’t with any guys…so no, Mark. He also said that neither of them really wanted to ask for her autograph because they were too scared and plus she was blending in with the crowd very well, so he didn’t want to disturb her.

After a couple of minutes, a couple of young kids noticed Kristin too, and noticed he was kinda following her. They asked him if it was Kristin Kreuk, and he said ‘Yeah’. So of course now that there’s a gang of them, they all got excited, but all were obviously too chicken to approach after her. He told me that for a couple of minutes they were kinda following her from 5 meters away. I know, I know CREEPY!! LOL, but then again, if I can’t talk to her, I might have done the same thing, and buy everything that she touches on EBay!

Finally, the kids had enough, and told my friend, OH his name is Daniel by the way, to just get her autograph. Of course, he told them that he didn’t want to, but was afraid to tell them that he was too chicken to. But since the kids were totally emasculating him, and forcing him to ‘Be a man,’ he finally went up and talked to her.

Of course, he didn’t want to just walk up to her and say hi, because he was still flippen scared, so he noticed that she was looking at this booth and went there with him. He said that her friend wasn’t near her at the time, so she was the only one in the booth looking at the bodies. Finally he went to the other side of the booth and pretended to look at it.

And then it happened….

He said that he looked at her a bit, and she kinda noticed he was looking at her. So he kinda smiled and asked: “Are you Kristin Kreuk?”

A side note on my friend, the dude does not watch Smallville, but knows Kristin either by me talking too much about her and Tom and by EuroTrip, because she danced really sexy.

He said that Kristin smiled and said, “Yeah.”

Daniel- Can you sign my autograph?

Kristin- Sure, HOW MANY?

Daniel- Two.

Ok, let’s stop here. Because I was so excited when Kristin said “how many?” since I thought he remembered that I was pathetically addicted to her and Tom. But when he said two, he actually gave the other one to the little girl. DAMN BASTARD! Lol, fine that was nice, but SERIOUSLY, DAMN BASTARD!! ALSO, how NICE is she for asking how many? GAHHH, if that was me I’d be too greedy and ask for a million!

While she was writing, he told me that they were 2 FEET APART!!!! But when I asked him the most illusive question of all: “What did she smell like?” He said that he didn’t know, he was trying not to pass out! LOL! That made me laugh. He also said that she was extremely pretty, and was shorter than he expected. He said that her hair was down and that she was wearing make-up, like she just left filming a scene. But when I asked what she was wearing, he couldn’t remember, but she was wearing long earrings. Of course, her trademark accessory!

Once she gave him her autograph, (he used his ticket stub as the paper), she asked him if he liked the exhibit. And he just said, “It’s awesome!” Now my friend is a really smart guy, he was the top of our graduating class in high school, but he said that he couldn’t form any coherent words when he was talking to her b/c she really was stunning

Then he asked if she liked the exhibit too, and this is what he said he will remember forever….

Kristin- I love it.

He said that when she said that, she did something with her tongue. He said that she flicked her tongue in her front teeth and kinda stuck it out, smiling and crinkling her nose in the process. HE MADE HER DO THE KREUK-CRINKLE!! DAMN LUCKY BASTARD!! He said that they kinda talked for a bit, but he cant remember it anymore, b/c after she did that, he was kinda in a trance. I’m not kidding, when he was telling me this story the dude looked dazed! Lol! BUT he did say that they were talking about the exhibit, and she seemed really fascinated w/ the human body. You guys can interpret that in your own way. LOL.

Anywase that’s about it. Oh and he said that there were no pictures allowed so he couldn’t get a picture of her. Which sucks for me, because I wanted to feel like I met her too!

But he did take a picture of the autograph for me which made me love her even more b/c SHE QUOTED GHANDI!! Writing: BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD. Anywase, here’s the scan. I had to delete some personal stuff so don’t mind the black line.

Again, I have to say, LUCKY BASTARD!! But looking at the autograph makes me think that she’s writing it to all of us. AHH, THE KREUK!! An inspiration to all!

Kristin Meeting in Smallville Studio «UP»
Kristin Meeting in Studio
By Janette

My uncle's friend, David, is a camera man. So today David took me to one of the Smallville studios in Burnaby. It was so awesome. He has a bunch of friends who work on the Smallville set so that's how he got me in. When we went in they were filming on the Kent Farm set. The scene was with Krisitin Kreuk and these two like bad guys. Later, one of David's friends who works on the set asked me if i wanted to check out all the other sets in the studio. So she went and took me on a tour. First we went to the set with the caves. When we walked in we saw Kristin sitting in a chair on her break reading the "Youthink" newspaper. So we went over to her and then David's friend introduced us.
She was like, "Janette have you met Kristin?"

She then said, "Kristin this is Janette"

Kristin then said "Hi Janette it's nice to meet you"

I then said "it's nice to meet you too". Kristin then shook my hand.

Then I asked Kristin, "Is it okay if i take a picture with you?"

Kristin smiled and replied,"yeah sure."

Here's the pic:

She was really nice and definately a lot prettier in person then she already is. After that David's friend took me to see the sets. I got to see the caves. It looked so neat. haha i got to touch the walls which were made from styrafoam! Then the next set was the luther mansion. It was so pretty inside and quite large too. Lastly was the barn!! Wow! It was amazing. So huge!! i walked in and was like WOW!! Totally incredible. I got to walk up the stars and into Clark's loft and everything.

After the tour we went back to the kent farm where they were still shooting that one scene. I got to sit in the corner of the room where the director's chairs are and the play back screens are. On the table beside me was the script. I saw it breifly and the episode they filmed today was "Mortal". After a while Kristin came over and sat down right beside me. She sat there for almost an hour beside me talking to crew members while they were filming with the two evil guys. It was so sweet! But i didn't say anything much to her cause i was kinda shy. But i did listen to her converstions and stuff and laughed when everyone else laughed. haha

Too bad Tom Welling wasn't there today. He was the one person i really really wanted to meet. It's alright though I still met Kristin!!! I'll probably ask David again if he could take me once more to the studio when he gets back from his 2 week vacation. Hopefully next time we'll come in at the right time so i could meet all the other cast members!!

Hello - I'm Mike from Stevenson Ranch, California, and I was the winner of The WB & Verizon Wireless Smallville Sweepstakes. I won the grand prize trip for two to Vancouver, Canada to visit the production set of Smallville and brought my dad, Jon, with me. A little bit about me - I have two sisters and one brother and love to play all kinds of sports. I currently attend junior college and will graduate in June and go on for my bachelor's degree.

We spent five great days in Vancouver, which is really pretty, but my favorite day was Thursday, February 26th. That was the day we went to the Smallville set. A girl named Kendra greeted us and showed us around. We went around viewing and going inside the different set locations. We also got to see Tom and Kristin act out a couple of scenes in front of the camera, which was pretty cool!

Later on, Kendra took us back to meet Tom and Kristin. They were both really nice people and I had fun meeting and conversing with them. They also gave me autographed pictures of them for my little sister, who is a really big fan. After that, Kristin and I took some pictures and talked for a little while. She is very funny and has tons of energy. And for all of you guys out there, she is even more beautiful in person!

On Sunday, we flew back to California. I had a great time on the Smallville set meeting all the cool and nice people.

Valentine's Day with Kristin «UP»
Valentine's Day with Kristin
By Kyle

I sat down, in anticipation of John Mayer at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver (2/14/04).

My friend turned to me and said, "So... do you watch Smallville?" I was like, "Hell ya!" I figured it was a pretty normal question, so I went back to anticipating for the show...

A couple minutes later, I looked at the people sitting in front of me and was like, "Hmm.. these people look familiar..."

But they were wearing big red hats (and coordinating outfits) so I couldn't quite tell who they were...

Some girl from afar yells, "Hey, Smallville!" And the blonde chick in front of me gets up and yells back "What? My name's not Smallville!"

Then it hit me, Oh my god it's Allison Mack! and .. and.. Kristin Kreuk!!!!

So I was pretty much banging my head on my chair because I didn't bring a camera. Noooooooooooo! And I didn't even have one of those little camera phones.

BUT I had a Sharpie (I was going to meet John Mayer after the show), so at least I got an autograph.

But I'm still angry at myself for not bringing a camera. It's not like I would have known they would be in front of me... but still... from now on, I'll just carry it with me everywhere... just in case... lol

Anyway, thank goodness for the mental photograph I have in my mind or else I'd have to take a Kristin picture and copy and paste my head into it. lol. And no, my friend didn't have a camera either (booooo) or else I wouldn't be complaining about not having mine. Any picture would be plenty enough... It doesn't have to be on my own camera.

I'm sure they were wearing hats to conceal themselves a bit. With a quick glance, I definitely wouldn't have been able to recognize Kristin beneath that. Allison's hat was smaller. It was a red beret. Kristin had a black top on... and that's about the extent I remember of it.

Well, to all my non-John Mayer-fan friends, they didn't get to meet Kristin and Allison, so hah to them (they were extremely jealous).

I got to watch half their bodies for two hours... Well, not that I was watching anyway, but they were up and dancing right in front of me. Kristin got tired after a while and sat down, but Allison stayed up.

I didn't really talk to them much because I didn't really want to bug them too much. I mean, they're there to enjoy themselves (hence, the trying not to get noticed).

When Kristin turned around (I don't know what she was looking at. She just turned around and looked directly at me), I pulled out my Sharpie and said, "Hey Kristin! Can I have an autograph?"

She smiled and said quietly, "Sure".

I gave her my GoCard (this bus pass thing for high school students) to sign (not much else I had with me at the time). She turned it around, checked my name, and then started signing away. She was really quiet actually. Normally, when I get autographs, I'm asked my name, rather than the person trying to figure it out for them selves, you know?

I know if I was a celebrity, I would like it if people didn't stop me on the street or wherever I was to get autographs. It must get so annoying after a while! BUT, since she was looking directly at me, I figured it was my opportunity to get her autograph without going out of my way. (There was a lady who did run over to talk to them, but she basically just got a picture and chatted for a minute or so.)

Just about then, I sighted her friend with a bunch of passes, and she was passing them around. I was like, "Oh my god are those passes!?"

And I was told, "No... No... These are just... uh... souvenirs".

So... they all had passes.

Then I looked at the guy next to me and he had a pass too... I felt so insignificant... or... well... maybe I just had great seats. (I later found out that he built drums for John Mayer)

During intermission, they (Kristin and her group) left to go backstage, and then they came back for the rest. They left the show during the last song because well, to beat the rush, obviously. Also, I guess they didn't want to be noticed at all that night.

I'm still killing myself for not bringing a camera... grrr. I didn't see a need for it at the time... but I suppose I should bring it with me everywhere now... just in case ... maybe Ill see them again?
*hits self*

And I have no clue why I didn't get Allison Mack's autograph. No clue whatsover. I feel like such an idiot. First, not having a camera, then this. Maybe because I was so ecstatic about having Kristin's that I totally forgot about Allison. *hits self again*

Kristin was with 3 other people. She was with Allison, and two other girls I didn't recognize. I figure they might have been Kristin's friends from high school or something.

Ah, I love Vancouver. You get to meet so many stars because so many movies are filmed here. This was the second encounter I've had with Kristin. The first was at the A&B Sound Seymour store. Well, it wasn't really an encounter. Basically, I saw her leaving the store when I was approaching the cashier... I wasn't going to chase after her. heh.

All things considered, I can now claim to have spent Valentine's Day evening with Kristin Kreuk. Isn't that something you'd love to tell your kids one day?

I went to an open casting call for a commercial in Vancouver and did pretty well. I got a call back, and went the following week. I thought it was fun, but not really a big career move for me. When I was at the studio, I was paired up with this girl named Grace. It turned out to be "Shannon" from Edgemont but I didn’t know at the time.

Anyhow, I didn’t get the part and that was the end. I went for a few more auditions after that, did one and I still don’t know what it was for, it was a really small part. So, I was watching "Romeo Must die" a little while later, and saw Grace again in the opening scene. I recognized her from the audition, so I watched the whole movie and later of the screen credits got a glance at her role and full name "Grace Park". So I did some internet surfing to see what else she had worked on which led me to the Edgemont site. I’ve been living in Vancouver all my life and had no idea that the show exited. I saw Graces bio and credits but moved on to Kristin Kreuk. She was out of this world. I definitely thought she was probably an accomplished actress and probably American, until I did some follow up on her and found that she is also from Vancouver, and graduated from a high school only 20min away from my high school, and attended high school at the same time I did. That was kind of cool. Obsessed or attached........not really, just curious I guess. So I began watching Edgemont and loved it. It’s a great show, very real. After that, there were promotions and small clips of a new show Smallville airing on the WB. I had no idea Kristin was a key role. I didn’t watch it until I accidentally switched it to the channel one day. It was the second episode of season one, and I saw Kristin. I thought, "No Way" It’s her. I’ve been watching both shows ever since.

I learned a little bit more about her, her life style, all the info from the net and thought wow, what a lucky girl. I was very pleased to see someone young like us succeed from Vancouver. She obviously my favorite actor and I knew that I would probably never meet her, not in a million years. AND, if I ever do, I would write a song for her. Not a love song expressing my love (that’s scary) but a song for her to always remind her who she is and how it feels to grow up in the lime light. I would periodically log on to the Edgemont website, applied a few times to work on set, as well as Smallville (It’s shot here as well) and came across a "Meet Kristin Kreuk" contest late last year. I said yah, I’ll enter just for the heck of it, but I don’t ever win anything, ever. So I did. It just asked 8 questions on a few episodes, and I’ve watched them all so I knew the answers.

Shortly after that, a few weeks, I received an email from the unit publicist (Jude Weir) (wife of Ian Weir the Creator) informing me that I won the contest. I just about had a heart attack. I thought it was a joke. I emailed Jude back with "you’ve gotta be joking" and she replied back with "No, you really won " I still have the email in my drafts folder. I knew this was my big chance, the one actress that I would ever want to meet, I could do it now AND, I could write my song. I had one month to do this, and prepare myself. I composed the entire arrangement in less then a week and had recorded it in my studio. With inspiration, it’s comes naturally. BUT, the lyrics were very difficult. I didn’t want to offend Kristin. In the duration of the production of the song, I emailed Jude just informing her that I was going to bring a gift for Kristin. Jude didn’t like the idea and insisted I give her an explanation. When I did, she agreed and was exited. (You’re the best Jude).I didn’t finish recording the lyrics until the day before I met Kristin (Dec 7th) I also entered the song in the 11th annual Canadian songwriting competition.

I went to CBC studios that evening and Jude met all the winners at the front of the building. We went down to the basement where the Edgemont studio was and there I saw her walking into her set. What a feeling. I didn’t loose it or anything, I kept my cool, I’m sure Kristin has enough of those fanatics! We ended watching them tape and episode from season 5 with P.J Prinsloo. But nobody talked to either of them. After the shoot, everybody went to the restaurant across the street and seated ourselves in the reserved area. And there she walked in, looking as conservative as Laurel and innocent as Lana. Wow. She sat at the "Head Table" with the crew the majority of the night but did come by to each of our tables.

I began to joke with her immediately:
Kristin: Is this seat taken?
Kevin: Yah. By you, it’s about time you came by.
Kristin: Okay (laughs)
Kevin: So, are you one of the actors on Edgemont?
Kristin: Yah, I am (laughs)
Kevin: Cool! I’m Kevin

And everybody else introduced themselves. We talked about work, school and a bunch of cool things. She looks awesome in real life; Edgemont and Smallville take away a lot!!!!! Trust Me! Anyhow, when we were all taken individually to take pics with Kristin, I brought the cd over and explained it to her. She was so surprised. I gave Jude a copy as well. She was stoked and said "That’s so cool, thanks, you’re so talented". I didn’t care what she said, as long as she had my..........her song. She promised shed listen to it and then we took our picture together.

She left soon after that, we’ve all been together for a few hours already. It was surreal and a great feeling. My drive home that night was funny. I felt that after all that I accomplished nothing. I don’t know why, I wasn’t expecting anything. I guess all the hype and glory was gone. After that night, Kristin was still a big star making bigger career moves, and I was still same old Kevin, trying to get by as a Vancouverite! I felt better 2 weeks later, when in the mail I received the picture of Kristin and Myself, and she wrote on it. It said "Kevin, Thanks for the song, I loved it! Love Kristin" That helped me solidifies myself, and showed me to go on.............I'll never forget the ultimate experience...

Well basically, I followed this girl I met there because she said she saw KK (Kristin Kreuk). I went and I couldn't believe I saw her. There she was in person, flawless. I think you could hear my mouth hit the floor because I was that star struck to actually see her. Then I got up enough courage and said "Hi!.......I love you and your show" She giggeled, smiled and said "Thank you" and the girl I was with asked her for her autograph and a picture. Since I was still star struck I wasn't thinking and when I heard what time it was, I remembered that I had to get back to The View so I could see Tom. That was basically it.

I sound unexcited for two reasons. 1) Because I didn't get a picture and 2) I didnt get an autograph so I could frame and gawk over it like any other fan would do! My damn mind went blank when I realized she was actually standing there that my brain wasn't registering properly.....hopefully next time I can get it :-D

Regis and Kelly, Outside the Studio

Kristin never does tak shows so I had to come out and see her when she did Regis and Kelly. I found out I got there 2 minutes after she went in supposedly from these Smallville fans who got her autograph. By the time it was time for her to come out there were about 20 more people there than when she went in and all of them were paparazzos or freaky autograph collectors so I thought for sure she would be wisked away by her posse. Anyhoo, back to my point, it was time for her to come out and the gate opened (the studio is weird this garage gate opens and closes to let the celeb's cars inside but her van didn't go in) and she's there taking a pic with a couple of suits.

I made my way through the crowd and was the first to go up to her and ask if I could take a pic with her. Her publiscist or some guy wanted to take her away but she said sure and so I gave him my camera and he got this annoyd look on his face. But he took the pic anyway. . KK was SO sweet. She was all giggly and smiley and beautiful! I was shocked by her beauty but not as shocked as I was by her kindness. Dont ask me why but I always thought kk gave off this standoffish vibe, must've been the anti hollywood thing about her but in person-- I'm not kidding- she is one of the nicest people in the world!

She made eye contact with everyone there and took pics and signed for EVERYONE! Even the freaky old collectyor people. At first I thought I would only get a chance to ask for a pic, but after I realized she was staying a bit longer I asked her to sign a neutragena ad for a friend. She personalized all the autographs for everyone and made it out to him. Then I realized she still had time for an autograph for myself so I asked her to sign my Seventeen magazine and she couldn't have been any nicer. She asked me my name and she was so cute! She was like "G-O-L-D--- I, or Y? I want to get this right." And then she was like "they spelled my name wrong!" all giggly and jokingly and she changed the E on the magazine to an I. lol. That was cute.

Anyhoo I basicaly let her get to other ppl. hehe. I kept snapping pics of her, taking breaks just to look at her with my own eyes for a second cuz she's just so beautiful. I can't stress how kind she was. She signed for everyone she took pics with everyone who requested one, she spoke to everyone, personalized everything, when somebody gave her a pic to sign with no pen or marker (idiot!) she would ask around and make sure she got it signed. She even posed for the paparazzos. Kristin is so not anti hollywood....I dunno if that's the right term. She's just very friendly and totally appreciates her fans. She's awesome.
*sigh*
I MET KRISTIN!!!! wOO HOO

Kristin at the Upfronts in New York «UP»
Kristin at the Upfronts in New York
By Dave

In Manhattan, I'm known to the other autograph collectors as 'Super Dave', since I go around everywhere wearing my prized Superman hat. My name is David Minerva, a long time Superman fan, who has the fun hobby of meeting celebrities! A usual celeb I am a fan of, I go to try and get a picture with them and some autographs. It doesn't have to be Superman related, but that's what I'll talk about now. I've met Dean Cain and John Shea so many times, they both know me! I've also had great (and not-so-great) encounters with such other people as Teri Hatcher and Margot Kidder. Let's get to 'Smallville'!!

This past week in New York was the Upfronts, where every station announced their fall schedules, and they bring in the some stars of their returning shows and new shows for these announcements. This week alone I took over 120 photos with different celebrities. Many were stars of new shows (on ABC, NBC, CBS, WB & UPN) and some were returning people (like some cast members from 'Buffy'). There were even a few names thrown in, like John Travolta at his hotel, and Lex Luthor himself, Gene Hackman, who I happened to bump into on the street!!

Even with all these great people, there were two people I was looking forward to meeting the most, the 2 representatives the WB sent in for 'Smallville'...Kristin Kreuk & Tom Welling.

The night Kristin checked in to her hotel, a friend and I were awaiting her. She got out of the car and we stopped her before she made it to the door. She seemed a little surprised we knew who she was. I started off by saying something like "You're probably wondering how we know you, but as you can see by my attire (I was wearing a Superman hat and shirt), I know who you are!" I went on to talk about the KryptonSite and how it has been updating info. on the show before she probably even auditioned for it. She seemed impressed. I brought up 'Edgemont' and admitted to never have seen it. She responded "Good!!! Don't!!!" and laughed in some embarrassment. [Note: Kristin Kreuk has since written in and clarified what she meant: Kristin thought "Edgemont" was a great show, she just didn't want Dave (or whoever) to base her acting talents on her first role. Of course, I think she was excellent in "Edgemont" -- Craig] Now I'm curious to see why she's some what ashamed of it. After taking a picture with me, we asked her to sign and she was confused what to write, never having really signed an autograph before. I told her she should get used to it! She signed a few things for me and thanked me over and over for being there for her. The next day at the event for the network, I saw her again (where I got another photo with her) and she remarked "How are you again!!?" and smiled.

Unfortunately I missed Tom when he checked in, so I got him leaving for the WB event Tuesday morning. He too was really great about it, but seemed more used to it than Kristin was.
